Progressive Unveils Snapshot

Progressive has introduced its Snapshot Discount that offers drivers the chance to lower their car insurance rates by as much as 30% based on real-time analysis of their driving habits.

Powering this program is the Snapshot device, which plugs into the onboard diagnostic port of most cars built after 1996. The device enables the customer to automatically and wirelessly share their driving patterns with Progressive. After 30 days, the customer can log in to their policy to see how much of an initial discount they're earning and what changes they can make to their driving habits to save even more. At the end of the six month policy term, the customer returns the device to Progressive, and Progressive calculates the final discount.



Michelin Launches New Promise Plan

Consumers who purchase a set of MICHELIN tires will receive the new Michelin Promise Plan, the first of its kind in the tire industry. The Michelin Promise Plan delivers a free 30-day satisfaction guarantee, three-year flat tire changing assistance and additional mileage warranties on passenger and light-truck replacement tires.

“This is a new way of thinking about tire service,” said Scott Clark, COO, Michelin NA. “While other companies offer piecemeal warranty packages, we are the first to provide a comprehensive package.”



Chrysler Brand Launches Test-Drive Opportunities At Local Shopping Malls Chrysler has launched a test drive campaign at local malls across the country.

“We want to ensure that potential consumers touch and feel the quality materials used on the interior of the vehicle and experience the performance improvements on the ride and handling. I am confident with these improvements in place, consideration for a Chrysler brand vehicle will increase from the moment they place their hands on the wheel and their foot on the accelerator,” said Olivier Francois, CEO, Chrysler Brand. “With today's busy schedules, it is important that the Chrysler brand makes the vehicle decision and research process more convenient and hands-on to consumers.”



New Malibu ECO Is Most Fuel-Efficient Midsize Chevrolet Ever

Chevrolet is introducing the 2013 Malibu ECO, the most fuel-efficient midsize sedan in its 100-year history. It features eAssist™ “light electrification” technology, engineered to deliver 26 mpg in city driving and 38 mpg on the highway. “The Malibu ECO is a smart choice for customers who want excellent fuel economy without paying the price premium of popular hybrid sedans,” said Rick Scheidt, V.P., Chevrolet Marketing.



Tesla Motors recently unveiled an inside look at its Model S, electric car, showcasing Tesla’s revolutionary approach to vehicle engineering at its exhibit at the 2011 North American International Auto Show. The Model S expanded view on display detailed how Tesla engineers have designed Model S for superior aerodynamics, stability and handling, crash safety, performance and range. This custom inflatable MONSTER TRUCK was created for a promotional tour for Advanced Auto Parts. The program was so successful they added more to their retail outlets.
