Goodyear Tire Stores Get New Look To Boost Sales

Goodyear Tire is giving a new look to its stores nationwide to stimulate a stronger, easy-to-shop retail experience.

In addition to a new store layout, the design introduces new floor and wall display visuals. Goodyear developed new signage, display fixtures, and information cards to help make product benefits easier for consumers to understand and make the tire purchase process less intimidating. “Goodyear is intensifying its focus on in-store needs of consumers, in conjunction with highly successful product launches,” said Rob Rajkowski, Director of Marketing & Merchandising, Goodyear. “The new design was developed based on feedback from consumers who said they preferred a more informational store environment.”

Goodyear worked with Hitchcock Fleming & Associates, Akron, OH to develop display visuals and Big Red Rooster, a retail design firm located in Columbus, OH.



Alamo Launches Rental Car Check In Kiosks

Alamo Rent A Car is rolling out new self-service kiosks at rental locations throughout the U.S. The new system cuts check in time for customers by about 50% when compared to average counter check in times.

The touch screen kiosk allows customers with an existing reservation to skip the rental counter and check in directly at the kiosk. A receipt sized rental agreement is printed from the kiosk and the customer is directed to his or her rental car on the lot.

The kiosk also allows the customer to review rental information, upgrade to a larger car class, and purchase optional items such as child car seats, GPS unit, Collision Damage Waiver and Pre Pay Gas.



Lexus 460 Launched With Art Installation Interactive Art Installation Supports Launch Of Lexus 460v

Lexus has launched a traveling interactive art installation to mark the launch of the Lexus 460. "Light and Speed" at The 460 Degrees Gallery celebrates passion, invention and an uncommon vision-all inherent in the new Lexus sedan Sebastien Agneessens, a prominent curator for the contemporary arts, curated the multi-media exhibition that brings together some of the top talents on the contemporary art scene.

The 460 Degrees Gallery also presents opportunities for visitors to participate in the discovery process. Touch-screen displays feature in-depth artist interviews and take visitors inside the art-making process. The traveling interactive art exhibit was developed for Lexus by LIME promotion.



Pontiac & Virgin Megastores Team Up For Co-Branded Promotion

Pontiac and Virgin Megastores are teaming up on a co-branding promotion. Pontiac is launching in-store merchandise towers in all of the North American Virgin Megastores. In exchange, Virgin Megastores will become Pontiac’s musical experts by licensing songs for use in Pontiac commercials and online promotions.

The 8’ tall Pontiac Towers in Virgin Megastores, feature items such as the Pontiac sponsored Virgin Recommends CDs, CDs from emerging artists featured in Pontiac advertising, Pontiac branded merchandise and interactive LCD TV screens where customers can view Pontiac Garage concert performances. Mark-Hans Richer, Marketing Director, Pontiac, said, “Pontiac’s in-store Virgin presence is just one more way we're providing a tangible brand experience.”

Dresser Wayne Offers Digital Merchandising For Fuel Retailers

Dresser Wayne has introduced a new digital merchandising tool that allows fuel retailers to customize promotions at the fuel dispenser. The new technology, iX Media Enterprise, allows retailers to show full-motion video promotions and specials to fuel customers while they fill up their gas tanks.

The iX Media Enterprise features include: Custom dayparting technology to offer specific discounts or product promotions depending on the time of day; Dispense-specific content distribution to provide greater flexibility in reaching specific target audiences; An extensive video image library that allows retailers to easily create even more visually compelling promotions and the ability to let consumers print coupons at the dispenser.
