Hockey legend Wayne Gretzky is spearheading the program, which has three components: The Ultra Grip "Most Gripping Moments of the 20th Century" Sweepstakes; The Ultra Grip "Most Gripping Moment Of My Life"Essay Contest; and the New Year’s Eve Ultra Trip private jet party.
One Sweepstakes winner and five guests will join eight contest finalists and one guest each in receiving Ultra Trip prize packages, including trips to New York City and a chartered Pro Air party jet trip on New Year’s Eve. Gretzky will have lunch with the winner and finalists of the essay contest. The Sweepstakes and Contest winner will each receive the grand prize, a 2000 Mazda Millenia with Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice winter tires.
Displays for the program will be featured in Goodyear dealerships in the U.S. and Canada.

The Champion Preventive Maintenance Program includes systematic electrical system diagnostic testing, merchandising tools, and Battery Day promotional events.
"The Program works to identify battery problems before the battery fails," said T.J. Coombs, V.P., Field Sales Operations, GNB Technologies. "It makes it easier to keep motorists from being stranded by a dead battery."

"We see this program as an opportunity to connect to a very important consumer and reintroduce them to the Volkswagen brand," said Heidi Korte, Manager Volkswagen Promotions.
Volkswagen partners, Trek and K2, will also be on-site to enhance the mini-festival atmosphere. Trek’s mobile cycling unit, with 20 bikes, will offer demo rides, and K2 will be on location with its demo van featuring K2 skis and snowboards.
