Mercury Cougar Extends Ad Message With P.O.P.

Mercury Division was in search of ways to visually reinforce its television advertising campaign, "Imagine TV" in dealership showrooms across the country.

CPI Marketing Services, Plymouth, MI, created this larger-than-life, cube-shaped display with six different cubes. Each cube displays different visuals. For easy assembly, the cubes were designed to stack at angles on top of each other. This design also enables the display to be updated with new cubes as additional features or new Mercury products are launched.

The display features back-lit lenticular images of four of Mercury’s "Imagine TV" commercials. These images were placed in what appear to be actual TV sets, giving off the appearance of motion as a viewer walks by.


Suzuki Provides Dealers With Info Center & Video Monitor Display

American Suzuki Motor Corp. wanted to provide a convenient, self-directed source of literature and sales information to assist retail buyers in its showrooms.

This Information Center establishes an attractive and functional center to house Suzuki literature. The unit features locking storage to hold a backup supply of brochures. It highlights 2 facings of each of 8 brochures. The video monitor display provides a well designed and durable display stand to support a TV/VCR and to store backup tapes.

Both displays prominently feature the Suzuki logo to enhance the dealer environment.

The displays were created for American Suzuki Motor Corp. by R/P Creative Sales Inc., a Burbank, CA-based p.o.p. display firm.


Buick Opens New Flagship Stores

Buick recently debuted its new Flagship dealerships nationwide. The stores have a park-like setting featuring exterior canopies and awnings. A carillon clock tower stands near the store’s entrance and houses an information kiosk that customers can use to shop 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Customers stepping into the Flagship store’s foyer, known as a hospitalidor, are greeted by a welcomer who offers them refreshments as they stroll through the dealership’s automotive displays, information center and library. Oversized lifestyle graphics enhance the store’s friendly, comfortable atmosphere.

Robert Coletta, Buick General Manager said, "Through our Flagship stores, we’re creating comfortable, non-threatening retail environments where customers are free to gather information, browse and purchase cars."


Mobil Rolls Out ‘On The Run’ Food Service P.O.P.

Mobil Oil has launched a comprehensive point-of-purchase campaign forits On The Run convenience stores across the nation. The campaign features a chef icon to convey that the food service is primarily freshly prepared to order and that baking is done on the premises, two key differentiators for Mobil On The Run.

"Getting these messages across quickly is a critical part of our overall objective of catching gasoline customers and c-store customers," said Jan Talamo, Chief Creative Director at The Star Group, the Cherry Hill, NJ-based communications agency, which developed the campaign for Mobil.

The campaign includes: danglers, menu boards, window posters, floor stands, pump toppers, floor graphics and pylon signs.


Visual Marketing Inc., Chicago, IL, will be showing this Bosch Outdoor Wiper Merchandiser. The objective of this display was to develop a durable and mobile outdoor wiper and refill blade merchandiser to penetrate a new market. Bosch wanted to increase sales by offering product outside of gas stations and anywhere blades aren’t currently merchandised. This weatherproof roll round cart holds a large assortment of blades and refills. A catalog is attached inside to help consumers make the right selection.
