Samsung SDS 50' x 60' Exhibit
This Samsung SDS booth was used at the 2001 Comdex Show in Las Vegas. It features a theater area for presentations, two conference rooms, eight workstations and a reception area. Sansung’s objective was to display all of the various software programs that it produces, as well as provide them an area to showcase them on a large screen. Samsung SDS is the largest software company in Korea and is now opening branches in the U.S. The “Sails” were created out of tubing and lightweight fabric and washed with various color lighting. At the show, Samsung received almost double the visitors and leads than the previous two years it attended Comdex. The Samsung SDS Exhibit was created by Olea Exhibits/Displays Inc., 17115 Jersey Avenue, Artesia, CA.
Ximian 40 x 40 Island Exhibit
The marketing goals for this project were to sell the products and also to educate attendees on its Linux open source operating systems. The design challenge was to create a whimsical exhibit with a jungle theme to promote the product on a user-friendly basis. This island oasis features clever use of materials and props, several demo stations, conference and storage rooms as well as a theatre able to seat twenty-four. The Ximian 40 x 40 Island Exhibit was created by Hill & Partners, Inc., 124 Old Colony Avenue, Quincy, MA 02170.
Dolby 40 x 40 Island Exhibit
This exhibit was designed for Dolby, a leader in audio technology which provides equipment used by sound professionals everywhere. The exhibit was designed to boost brand visibility and promote Dolby’s position as an established leader in innovation. The exhibit had to provide an environment that is lightweight and flexible while at the same time expressing a sense of strength and stability. The use of wood and metal finishes reflected the company’s solid durability. Creative illumination was used on the tower structure and the demo stations offered a 360 degree view of products. Each station presented the visitor with an opportunity to learn about Dolby’s customer support and education. The Dolby 40 x 40 Island Exhibit was created by Contempo Design, 1800 Industrial Drive, Libertyville, IL 60048.
Lonza Inc. Island Rental Exhibit
This exhibit featured a tower and customized lighting to give it visibility from a distance and attraction from close by. The central tower displayed the “Lonzagroup” logo at the top. A truss system was added to support two counters with backwalls which were color-keyed to the gray and white of the tower and held 4 x 2ft. high graphics. The countertop-backwall provided a meeting point and literature table. The exhibit’s boundaries were defined by four Banner Systems Rollup double-sided displays. Lonza custom manufactures fine chemicals and performance chemicals for pharmaceutical companies. This exhibit provided the image Lonza was seeking with this larger, highly visible rental exhibit. Reeves Teletape Tubular Exhibit
Reeves Teletape requested an open, inexpensive exhibit for its trade show program. This exhibit was designed using the Abstracta Structures tubular exhibit system which features modular steel tubes and internal connectors. The system also includes graphic panels which can be inserted between tubes to provide a background. The system is light weight, but strong, and can be re-used in many different configurations. This exhibit was designed by George Corrin Jr. This exhibit was created by Abstracta Original Ltd., 347 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10016.
BakBone Software Custom Island Exhibit
This 20' x 20' exhibit was designed to accommodate BakBone Software’s future growth into a large space, while delivering an impactful display. Massive corporate identification is set over the main entrance to provide an inviting atmosphere. There is sample seating for 10 and additional standing space behind for theater demonstration, which is the central focus of the space. Additional demonstration areas flank two opposing corners to allow for heavy attendance traffic. Two large translucent acrylic graphics communicate product benefits. This exhibit was created by Mostre Design Inc., 5940 Darwin Court, Carlsbad, CA 92008.
Homestore Double-Deck Exhibit
This double-deck exhibit is complete with two conference rooms, a lounge area, theaters and interactive workstations. The unique part of this booth was the material choices. The Deck was entirely of aluminum and scrims, with exposed timberstrand used in the workstations. A “Wave” structure was attached to the aluminum truss that extended up from the second deck and provided Homestore with an effective identity that could be seen from all parts of the show floor. The second deck gave Homestore the opportunity to really focus on sales. Plasma screens and flat screen monitors in the theaters and workstations allowed the salespeople to make a real impact on their customers. The Homestore Double-Deck Exhibit was created by Entolo, Inc. 5000 Winnetka Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55427.
Mopar Parts Internet Café Exhibit
Mopar is a supplier of parts for vehicle body shop professionals. The exhibit was designed to establish a presence for Mopar as creative and innovative. It wanted to provide a warm and inviting setting for showgoers. This exhibit created an intimate, café atmosphere with warm, incandescent light fixtures providing an inviting environment. Specific areas were created for different activities, a bar to offer refreshments, a lounge with comfortable furniture and computers to provide opportunity for the public to socialize while accessing the web. This 50' x 50' exhibit was created by The George P. Johnson Company, 3600 Giddings Road, Auburn Hills, MI 48326.
