Adidas Deploys adiVerse Virtual Footwear Wall

Adidas is using adiVerse, a virtual footwear wall that puts the ultimate aisle of shoes at the fingertips of shoppers. This solution is an extension of the real product displays where shoes would be shown on a shelf, but virtually. adiVerse is powered by 2nd generation Intel® Core™ i7 processors, which deliver visually smart performance, allowing users to interact with footwear to an unprecedented level of detail.

Using state of the art touch-screen and precision real-time 3D rendered products, shoppers can select products on a virtual shelf, pull products, look onto the product from any angle, rotate it, zoom it in, and get further product and technology information. Built-in anonymous video analytics provides metrics on shopper trends, demographics, and shopping patterns.



Diet Pepsi Displays Sleek, New Look

The new Diet Pepsi Skinny Can will launch with a series of fashion events and celebrations, including an art installation by fashion commentator, Simon Doonan, and collaborations with acclaimed designers, Charlotte Ronson and Betsey Johnson. “Diet Pepsi has a long history of celebrating women through iconic fashion imagery seen in our infamous and historical campaigns,” said Jill Beraud, Chief Marketing Officer, PepsiCo. “Our slim, attractive new can is the perfect complement to today’s most stylish looks.”

As part of the festivities, fashion commentator, Simon Doonan, famous for his store window displays, will unveil a special collaboration at the Diet Pepsi Style Studio located in New York's fashionable Soho neighborhood. Featuring Diet Pepsi's slim, attractive new cans and incorporating Jonathan Adler designs, the window installation is a unique fusion of fashion and art.



Candie’s Campaign Features Vanessa Hudgens

Iconix Brand Group has unveiled its spring 2011 marketing campaign featuring actress Vanessa Hudgens for its junior brand, Candie’s® at Kohl’s Department Stores. Vanessa Hudgens, an award-winning actress and recording artist known for her starring role in the High School Musical movie series, is following the highly successful Candie's campaigns with superstar Britney Spears.

Julie Gardner, Kohl’s Chief Marketing Officer, said, “Vanessa Hudgens is relevant in today’s pop culture and a style icon. We are excited to feature her in our spring Candie’s campaign and are confident she will resonate with our young shoppers who want great style at a great value.”

Vans By Thalia Opens Co-Branded Surf Shop

Vans and Thalia Surf Shop have opened Vans’ first boutique surf partnership, Vans by Thalia Surf Shop in Laguna Beach, CA. Customers can expect to find Vans’ pinnacle surf and lifestyle footwear and apparel as well as special projects only available at Vans by Thalia in a setting that melds Vans’ heritage with Thalia’s bohemian beach culture. The store will open with the spotlight on Vans’ classic and progressive surf styles.

Niketown London Unveiled As The World’s Largest Nike Store

NIKE has reopened its flagship Niketown store in central London, following extensive redevelopment that makes it the largest Nike store in the World. Niketown London now covers approximately 42,000 sq. ft. over four floors. Niketown London has expanded from three to four floors with services and experiences that include: A two-floor NIKEiD studio (and football boot-specific iD studio) for consumers to go online to customize their own footwear, clothing and equipment, complete with design consultants to assist them. A state of the art football boot fitting machine allows players the chance to steam mould boots to their feet. A boot embroidery service allows names, flags and numbers to be stitched onto football boots.

Video gait analysis and trained staff help runners work out exactly what type of shoe suits their running style. The third floor showcases the latest women’s apparel, footwear and action sports.


Urban Street Vibe Reflected In First Ever Rolling Stone Restaurant

When Brodin Design Build was commissioned to design the restaurant and lounge for the world’s most iconic music magazine, Rolling Stone, designer Gavin Brodin set out to capture everything Rolling Stone represents. The 10,500-sq. ft. space embodies the fusion of classic and modern, stylish and casual ,from the main bar, with its shelving a mix of leaded glass and reclaimed plumbing pipes, to the wall design, which integrates elegant sconces with candid rock photos.

Over-sized images of famous musicians are hammered into the concrete walls. Illuminated Rolling Stone magazine covers hang from the ceiling while a life-size image of Roger Daltry performing gives the back wall a live show air.


Natural Element Opens At MSP Airport

Natural Element has opened at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) offering organic, recycled and sustainable clothing, footwear and accessories to the traveling public. Natural Element is one of the first shops of its kind to offer all eco-conscious goods in an international airport setting.

Natural Elements product line includes hand crafted jewelry made with recycled metals, conflict-free gemstones and reclaimed glass. Travelers will also find handbags created from discarded leather goods and purses made from recycled water bottles. Additionally, Natural Element carries green gifts such as hand-made vegetable-based soaps and organic children's toys. Eco-friendly footwear, clothing and accessories are also available.

Hill & Partners, a Quincy, MA-based exhibit firm, recently created a custom rental linear exhibit program for Polartec. Polartec has used the exhibit at three national shows on the East and West coasts in addition to two international shows in Prague and Paris. The 10 x 20 exhibit conveys a sense of depth through the creative use of frosted Plexiglas panels with dimensional branding elements and product display areas for Polartec garments. A trapezoid-shaped front reception desk doubled as a conference table and demo counter with storage space. The booth is capped by a ceiling, providing additional structure and dimension. Moss Groove is a simple framing system designed to showcase fabric graphics. Perfectly patterned fabric slides into the extrusion's groove for a clean and evenly tensioned fit, minimizing visible framework. Once the extrusion is built and mounted, graphic replacement is easy. The Sports Authority Athletic Apparel fixture was designed to provide a free-standing roll-about to merchandise a variety of colors and styles in an organized manner to make consumer shopping and selection easier. It features adjustable hanger bars and provides the flexibility to merchandise pants, tops and shorts. The fixture is constructed from metal, with a silver powder finish and the 2-sided sign holder is interchangeable. The ends of the hanger bars feature a dimensional logo.
