New Levi’s Shops Target Youth Market
The newly installed Levi’s shop at Canal Jean Co. is an example of the brand’s push to re-connect with the 15-25 year-old market. In one of the largest Levi’s presentations, retail space is given up to promote emerging artists through rotating exhibits. The 13,595 sq. ft. shop features three separate product departments including 501’s, men’s and women’s. There are also plans to expand to include SilverTab, Kids, Levi’s Original Spin, and a cafe.
Customers get off the escalator and enter the Indigo Gallery which presents works from emerging artists whose style speaks to youth culture. The gallery serves as the shop’s central focal area with exhibits scheduled to rotate every few weeks, blurring the line between traditional retail and artistic exhibition.
The 501 Gallery features the old west combined with the modern age to create a fun and fresh image for Levi’s flagship product. Unfinished and distressed materials are accented with archival Levi’s photos. The department is framed by a 53’ "Chicken Coop Wall."
The Men’s Red Tab shop takes an unexpected approach by displaying Levi’s jeans that have been dipped in resin and hung from red spikes driven into elongated wooden doors. The backwall features randomly placed photos that form a grafitti-like appearance. The Women’s Red Tab shop presents photos of real women, complementing the current Levi’s marketing approach focusing on real people-instead of fashion models to present a believable lifestyle message.
Fixtures for the shop were created by Mobius, Inc., Eugene, OR, with interactive elements by Dennis Interactive of New York City.

Seiko Kinetic and Pulsar Solar Banners
The key objective of this banner system was to add excitement at the point of sale for the new Seiko Kinetic and Pulsar Solar watch collections. The banners were also used as part of a retailer incentive program. Retailers who bought more watches were given the banners for free. A 4-color silk screen process was used to place the vivid colors on the hand-sewn satin banners and black powder-coated wire stands were specially engineered to balance easily. A 27" counter banner was developed as well as a 72" floorstand banner, in order to fit in a variety of retail locations. The banner system was in high demand, causing most participating retailers to accept 18 watches rather than just 6. The Seiko Kinetic and Pulsar Solar Banners were created by Abstrategy Design & Manufacturing, Inc., 125 Main Street, Matawan, NJ 07747.
David Peyser Sportswear Weatherproof Garment Rack Topper
David Peyser Sportswear was looking for a display to place on top of garment racks to aid in creating their brand image. The display needed to provide graphic areas and information on the high-tech fabrics used in their clothing line. The display also needed to look like fine furniture to complement the decor of high end department stores and allow for graphic changes based on seasonal clothing fashions. This wooden garment rack topper is designed to display four seasonal sales photos while calling attention to the Weatherproof Garments section in upscale outlets. The weatherproof logo is hot stamped in gold foil above the front and rear display panels. The unit is made of furniture grade plywood with clear acrylic window inserts and a chromed steel base. The use of CNC milling technology and modular construction reduced manufacturing costs. The Weatherproof Rack Topper was created by Heritage Frame & Glass Creations, P.O. Box 158, 344 Industrial Drive, Nesquehoning, PA 18240.
