IdeaPaint Displays Dry-Erase Paint At Lowe’s Stores

IdeaPaint, creator of high-performance dry-erase paint solutions, has placed its "HOME" product on display at select Lowe's stores. IdeaPaint’s dry-erase paint products transform smooth surfaces into borderless, durable, dry-erase canvases.

“Our retail launch with Lowe’s for our ‘HOME’ dry-erase paint is the culmination of years of work spent spreading the word for IdeaPaint - painting the walls of everyone who would let us,” said Jeff Avallon, co-founder of IdeaPaint.

Hyde Merchandiser Showcases New Paint Products

Hyde Tools has introduced two patented new technologies for pressure washing and airless spray painting that it is featuring on display in an attractive new merchandiser.

The new merchandiser is a walk-around unit that showcases 12 individual products plus display materials. The unit measures just 23 x 27 and provides space for these patented new technologies developed by Hyde. The HYDE Rapid Valve Transfer Airless Spray System shortcuts many of the time-consuming aspects of professional spray painting. The HYDE Pivot Nozzle Wand, offers a breakthrough in pressure washer comfort and efficiency by incorporating a patented pivoting nozzle. Unique packaging allows customers to get the feel of each product and activate key features like the pivoting nozzle.



IKEA To Phase Out Incandescent Lighting

IKEA has begun to phase out all incandescent light bulbs in its US stores. This recent IKEA environmental initiative has a target date of incandescent bulb elimination by January 1, 2011. The aggressive IKEA US store phase out program exemplifies IKEA’s commitment to helping its customers live an everyday sustainable life. IKEA will be the first US retailer to completely phase out incandescent light bulbs.

“IKEA is committed to integrating sustainability into all IKEA strategies and practices in the entire product life cycle. Eliminating incandescents is a simple way to lead the charge for IKEA customers to use energy saving light bulbs, thus reducing energy consumption and reducing the amount of greenhouses gases,” said Mike Ward, US IKEA President.

IKEA will offer a wide selection of effective energy saving bulbs. In addition to the compact fluorescent bulb (CFL), the most popular bulb, IKEA also offers a range of LED lamps.



Black & Decker Launches PlantSmart Garden Sensor

Black & Decker is licensing PlantSense’s Internet-connected EasyBloom technology to introduce its PlantSmart line of plant sensors. Users place the Plant Smart sensor anywhere they want to grow a plant - indoors or out - and PlantSmart takes a “plant’s eye view” of light, temperature and soil condition. After 24 hours the user plugs the PlantSmart sensor into a computer, and PlantSense will recommend plants that will thrive in a particular spot or diagnose ailing plants. It will even “chirp” when a plant needs to be watered.



Energizer Introduces Inductive Charger

Energizer has introduced its first inductive charger built with Qi technology, the new universal charging standard developed by the Wireless Power Consortium. Qi will bring consumers the freedom to charge their smartphones, MP3 players, cameras, or any device 5 Watts or less, regardless of manufacturer.

“By leading the way with one of the first Qi products, we are meeting a clear need for a product that makes charging devices easier by eliminating cords and clutter,” said Jim Olsen, VP, Marketing, Energizer, NA.

Trex, the largest wood-alternative decking, railing and fencing products company, needed a display that would support heavy product, be able to change often and withstand the rigors of placement in Home Depot and hardware stores. This Trex freestanding display was constructed using sheet metal, tubing and wire. This Trex display was created by EB Display Co., 1369 Sanders Ave., S.W., Massillon, OH 44648.



Omnimount is using this display to merchandise its TV Wall Mounts in all Sam’s Club USA retail locations. The display features a 10.2" interactive touch screen monitor in front, which plays an instructional video. Clear acrylic panels allow customers to view and interact with the mounts. The unit is shipped in kit form split up into three sections for easy shipping and assembly. This Omnimount display was created by Kosakura, 2215 S. Standard Ave. Santa Ana, CA 92707.



Ninja Master Prep is using this counter display to merchandise its food processing products.This display is made from a combination of CNC cut plywood, acrylic, Sintra and a simulated brushed aluminum substrate. The base is screen printed two colors. The back panel has a laminated litho print mounted to a styrene panel. All items are permanently affixed to prevent theft. The objective is to entice people to try the product so that consumers upgrade from a traditional blender to the ninja products when they see and feel the quality of the Ninja. This Ninja product display was created by Heritage Sign and Display, 344 Industrial Road, Nesquehoning, PA 18240.
