Stone Garden Introduces Potting Bench Display
This Potting Bench display with header sign and picket fence attachment, offers a traffic stopping presentation of Stone Garden products from United Design, Noble, OK.
This natural wood fixture, finished in a light grass green stain, features a waist high "workbench" display surface with slanted shelves below, pegboard sides and a pegboard back. Extremely versatile, this easy-to-assemble unit provides plenty of space for pegs or shelves, allowing the retailer to merchandise a wide variety of Stone Garden products. Detachable picket fence “wings” add to the outdoor garden look and offer additional display space for hanging items. The slanted shelves below the bench are perfect for displaying stepping stones, sundials, wall plaques or similar Stone Garden merchandise.
Amerock Merchandiser Displays Cabinet Hardware
Amerock Corporation, a leading manufacturer of cabinet hardware, is featuring this selling system in hardware stores and home centers around the nation.
The merchandiser is constructed of backlit header signs, hardwood display panels in two finishes to denote basic and premium hardware selections, and extended wings featuring frosted plex, perfed metal and brushed aluminum.
The Amerock merchandiser was created by Heinzeroth Marketing Group, a Rockford, IL-based design firm specializing in point-of-purchase merchandising programs.
Enderes Tools Display Features 4-In-1 Screwdrivers
This center aisle display for Enderes Tools incorporates a large screwdriver shape into the display to attract attention to the company’s 4-in-1 screwdrivers. In addition to attracting customers, the unique eye catching display allows easy shopability of the product.
The result was a highly effective display that sold the product well. The display also attracted attention and created interest in the product for first time customers.
The Enderes Tools display was designed and produced by Kell Specialty Products, a point-of-purchase display firm based in Chippewa Falls, WI.
Interactive Display Introduces GE’s Reveal Bulb
GE Lighting is using this interactive light box display to introduce its new Reveal light bulb. This “GE Reveal Comparator”
display is designed with a button that activates both light and sound to demonstrate the difference between a room lighted with a GE Reveal bulb, and a room with ordinary light. The lighting components in the display illuminate images on silk screened labels that depict a typical household room. The display’s sound chip provides narration.
The light box, which is 19” wide x 8” deep x 13” tall, is constructed of white powder-coated sheet metal for durability in a heavily trafficked retail environment.
This display was created for GE Lighting by Display Technologies, Inc., a College Point, NY-based p.o.p. display firm.
Home Depot & ServiceMaster To Pilot Home Services Program
The Home Depot is teaming with The ServiceMaster Co. to test the sale of a wide range of co-branded residential maintenance and repair services to its retail customer base.
ServiceMaster boasts a strong portfolio of recognized home services including professional lawn, tree and shrub care, landscape installation, termite and pest control, plumbing and drain cleaning, carpet and upholstery cleaning and home warranties. These services complement Home Depot's existing offering of product installation and home improvement services.
“This partnership creates new channels of distribution,” said Jonathan Ward, CEO of ServiceMaster. “Consumers will soon be able to conveniently purchase our high quality home services from a Home Depot store.”
The program will be promoted through kiosks, signage and promotional activities.
Hoover, Lysol And Old English Brands Team For Strategic Alliance
The Hoover Co. and Reckitt Benckiser have entered a strategic alliance for the joint development and distribution of cleaning systems incorporating Hoover equipment and Reckitt Benckiser household cleaning products.
The first result of the alliance is a new product category that teams the Hoover brand with special formulas of LYSOL brand disinfectants and OLD ENGLISH brand wood care products.
Javed Ahmed, President, Reckitt Benckiser North America Household, said, “By leveraging each others’ strengths, this alliance provides both companies with new product opportunities and potential incremental business.”
Office Depot Opens Prototype Stores
Office Depot, has opened several new prototype stores designed to offer a more compelling place to shop for office products and services. The new store prototype creates a circular flow of traffic that allows customers to easily see around the store from any one point, and access all areas with ease and convenience.
Prototype store features include: A new Technology Center in the middle of the store that houses the Company’s “Business Solutions Center” to assist customers with technology solutions such as “Build Your Own Computer,” “High Speed Internet Access;” a new Education Center, new 3-D technology enabling customers to configure office furniture; and an enhanced Copy and Print Center. Additionally, the new stores incorporate enhanced signage, reference charts on technology products, and new aisle markers and signage that clearly define product categories.
Lowe’s & Whirlpool Feature Mobile Kitchen
Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse and Whirlpool Corp. have launched a 70-foot, 31-ton, 18 wheeler, featuring the latest in appliance technology and fashionable kitchen design together under one mobile roof. The mobile display includes a complete working kitchen outfitted with Whirlpool brand major appliances and KitchenAid brand portable appliances. The tour will stop at Lowe’s stores to give visitors an opportunity to view state-of-the-art home products in a non-retail environment.
“The Lowe's-Whirlpool Innovation Tour is an extension of the strong alliance between the two companies,” said Tom Sparling, Lowe's Product Marketing Manager. Tom Ellspermann, Director of Sales for Whirlpool said, “Together, we can give consumers the inspiration and the knowledge to make purchases that are not only smart, but will provide good performance and satisfaction for years to come.”
La-Z-Boy Slumber Air Mattress Introduced
La-Z-Boy has introduced the La-Z-Boy Slumber Air mattress system, which combines an air mattress with the Supreme Comfort Mattress by La-Z-Boy. The one-of-a-kind system consists of a five-inch air mattress that rests on top of the five-inch Supreme Comfort Mattress.
“Part of being a good host is giving your guests a comfortable place to sleep, which can sometimes be a challenge,” said Greg White, V.P., Merchandising for La-Z-Boy.
GE Appliances Launches CustomCool Express Chill
The GE Profile Arctica Side-By-Side Refrigerator is the most comprehensive refrigeration system GE Appliances has ever offered.
A unique feature is the CustomCool Express Chill setting, which cools beverages in minutes, not hours. Express Chill can also be used to quickly chill cookie dough or gelatin desserts for family gatherings.
Icebox FlipScreen Debuts
ICEBOX, LLC, a subsidiary of Salton, has introduced the ICEBOX FlipScreen model, a Web-enabled kitchen entertainment center, which supplies easy access to TV, Internet, DVDs, audio CDs and home video monitoring. Kitchens are riding a wave of consumer interest for new products that bring entertainment and communication to this space. “The ICEBOX is truly a new home entertaining category, offering broad family appeal and tremendous growth potential,” said John Robson, National Sales Manager at ICEBOX.
Newell Rubbermaid Road-Show Highlights NASCAR
Newell Rubbermaid has launched a NASCAR Block Party promotion. The interactive mobile exhibit support’s Newell Rubbermaid's racing sponsorship of the NASCAR Winston Cup Series, and it provides product demonstrations.
Housed aboard a 53-foot trailer with a tent folding out on each side, the event features interactive displays and prizes. “The ‘Block Party’ allows Newell Rubbermaid to interact with consumers on a personal basis and build lasting relationships,” said Daniel Davis, NASCAR Sponsorship Manager for Newell Rubbermaid.
National Tour, a Rancho Santa Margarita, CA-based event-marketing firm was selected by Newell Rubbermaid to manage the tour.
ICI Paints Featuring An Inspirational Idea Center
ICI Paints wanted to launch an interactive paint center, designed to allow two or more consumers to view and interact with the 12 idea boards that held an array of colorful paint chips on both sides.
The unit was constructed of particleboard with a melamine finish, sheet metal, a high glossy powder coat finish along with injection chip holders, and a unique chip receptacle.
Using a combination of fluorescent and halogen lighting this created a highly visible merchandiser.
This interactive display was created for ICI Paints by CDA Industries, Inc., a p.o.p. display firm headquartered in Pickering, Ontario, Canada.
