Blockbuster & Wendy’s Run Movie Mania Promotion
Wendy’s and Blockbuster with The Coca-Cola Company, have teamed up to create “Movie Mania,” a national marketing promotion that will award one grand prize winner free video rentals for life.
The promotion features an instant win game on all packages of 5-piece Wendy’s Crispy Chicken Nuggets. Each specially marked game piece is guaranteed to be a winner of a prize or offer.
Wendy’s is supporting the promotion with national television ads and radio spots as well as in-store POP materials. In-store monitors at Blockbuster locations will also feature the commercials.
Dunkin’ Donuts Opens Outlets In Home Depot Stores
Dunkin’ Donuts has opened Dunkin’ Donuts stores within Home Depot test locations, marking a unique, first-time partnership for the Dunkin’ Donuts chain.
Dunkin’ Donuts is leasing space in the "Pro" section of Home Depot, an area dedicated to professional builders and contractors. Shoppers are able to enjoy the 220-square foot, full service Dunkin’ Donuts, complete with seating and an Internet hook-up. The location serves the full range of Dunkin’ Donuts products.
Dunkin’ Donuts worked with Design Forum on the concept and design for the store-within-a-store. The Dayton, OH-based retail design firm recently created the new store prototype and corporate identity for Dunkin’ Donuts and translated the elements of that design to work in this latest extension of the Dunkin' Donuts brand.
Counter Displays Feature Toolz Laser Tools
Toolz is using these counter displays to feature its line of laser tools in warehouse centers.
The design features allowed the customer to use the products while keeping the units secure on the display.
The clear plastic shields help illustrate the direction and accuracy of the laser beams. The displays have a family appearance and were cost effective to produce.
The Toolz laser tool counter displays were produced by Kosakura & Associates, designers and manufacturers of merchandising displays located in Santa Ana, CA.
New Shur-Line Displays Reflect Identity Change
The EZ Paintr Corporation, a Newell Rubbermaid Company, recently changed its name to Shur-Line, underscoring the Company's transition to being a leading marketer and manufacturer of consumer branded paint applicators, convenience tools and paint-related accessories.
To introduce the new name and a variety of new products into the marketplace, Shur-Line utilized corrugated displays as a cost effective solution to get the most visibility for the greatest variety of products.
The new Shur-Line displays were produced by Great Lakes Packaging Corporation of Germantown, WI.
Federated Launches ‘Reinvent’ Strategy
Federated Department Stores has launched a “reinvent the department store” strategy. The company is retrofitting 34 of its existing stores with elements such as enhanced fitting rooms, high visibility directional signage, price-check devices, comfortable lounge areas, in-store computer kiosks, revamped juniors and young men's departments, shopping carts and innovative merchandising presentations. The stores with the reinvent strategy will feature the latest technology and conveniences including in-store computer internet kiosks that allow customers to check e-mail and local entertainment venues, as well as an average of 30 price-check stations located throughout the store.
Terry Lundgren, Federated’s President, said, “We are continuously listening to the needs of our customers and then directing our reinvent strategies to meet them. The results are seen in our rejuvenated department stores with an emphasis on distinctive presentation, ease of navigation, and greater convenience in the shopping experience.”
Colgate Simply White Whitening Gel Debuts
Colgate-Palmolive has introduced an at-home teeth whitening gel called Colgate Simply White. Colgate Simply White is easy to use and affordably priced at $14.99. Colgate is backing the launch with over $60 million. “Colgate Simply White eliminates the hassle associated with current at-home whitening products because it does not require trays, strips or cumbersome devices,” said Ian Cook, President, Colgate N.A.
Springmaid Visits Wal-Mart Stores
Springs Industries, manufacturer of Springmaid home fashions, has launched the Springmaid Dream Machine, a furnished, interactive, personal decorating resource.
The 48-ft. Springmaid Dream Machine takes a fully-decorated bedroom and bath, design consultants and decorating resource materials directly to Wal-Mart stores.
“The mobile marketing unit is a great way for consumers to become comfortable with decorating,” said Nancy Webster, Vice President of Creative Development for Springs Industries. “The unit is designed so you can stand in the middle of the room and see how everything works together.”
NK Lawn & Garden End Cap Display
This display is constructed from wire and metal and merchandises a wide variety of seeds for fruits, vegetables, flowers and herbs for the lawn and garden. The objective was to provide a major retail chain with a permanent year round end cap display offering the consumer a wide selection of product, and to increase sales and profits. Vertical and horizontal sign panels provide strong brand identity. The unit achieved all of its objectives. The NK Lawn & Garden End Cap display was created by Nashville Display, 1415 Elm Hill Pike, Nashville, TN 37210.
