Jarden Features Its Tailgating Grill

Jarden Consumer Solutions wanted to communicate the lifestyle benefits of its new premium Margaritaville Tailgating Grill and Cordless Frozen Concoction Maker to tailgaters, campers and outdoor enthusiasts.

This display communicates the fun lifestyle and the brand personality. It provides a durable steel welded structure that is bolted to a custom-designed wood pallet to hold the weight of an actual 75 lb. grill and the cordless blender. The roof of the hut offers dimensional interest and uses recycled, shredded corrugate that is environmentally friendly. The Jarden Margaritaville display was created by POP Displays of Yonkers, NY, (www.popdisplaysusa.com).



Sleep Rite Bedding Display Gains New Space

Sleep Rite Bedding is using this display to open new accounts for bedding in mattress stores. The unit provides cross-merchandising opportunities for bedding items in mattress stores.

The self-contained unit is produced of tubing and wire for strength and durability, and it features 4-color header graphics. A wood melamine spinning base completes the display. The space efficient display is designed to take up a minimum of floor space. The Sleep Rite spinning tower was created by Flair Display, Inc., (www.flairdisplay.com) a Bronx, New York-based point-of-purchase display firm.



Blank Quilting Offers Inspiration Center

Blank Quilting fabrics is using this attractive unit to merchandise its products at indepdent quilting and fabric shops. The display features wire and metal and provides a permanent home for the products. The display is set on casters so that it can be moved to different areas in the retail store as needed.

The display provides full visibility for a large selection of different fabrics. The decorative scrolled header panel provides strong brand visibility while reinforcing the Blank Quilting corporate image. This Blank Quilting Inspiration Center was created by Practical Retail Merchandising Inc., an Evanston. IL-based p.o.p. display firm.



UltraLast Rechargeable Batteries Introduced

New UltraLast Green™ rechargeable batteries include Everyday Rechargeables™, batteries designed for use in household items, and High-Power Rechargeables™, batteries for high-power consumption devices. Mark Dockser, Sr. V.P., UltraLast Batteries, said, “Consumers now have a greener alternative to throw-away batteries.” Displays for the new line reinforce its environmental benefits.



BULBRITE Promotes Energy Efficient Light Bulbs

BULBRITE recently partnered with ENERGY STAR® and the NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research and Development Association) program to promote energy efficient products throughout the state of New York.

BULBRITE offered ENERGY STAR®-approved compact fluorescents to its distributors throughout New York at deeply discounted prices. With each order, educational pamphlets, as well as counter mats (made from recycled materials), were included, promoting the many benefits of energy saving light bulbs. By offering discounted prices, as well as providing educational material, BULBRITE distributors are promoting energy efficiency while passing along the savings to the consumers.

Through this promotion, BULBRITE distributed 35,000 ENERGY STAR®-approved compact fluorescents and saved 20 million kilowatt hours over the life of the bulbs.



L.L.Bean Opens Home Store In Freeport, ME

L.L.Bean has opened its new Home store in Freeport, Maine. “Our new Home store space will allow our customers a much more interesting shopping experience and different ways to view our new product selection,” said Ken Kacere, L.L.Bean’s Sr. V.P. & G.M. of Retail. “The store will bring our catalog offerings to life, and customers will also discover one-of-a-kind hand-made items, a selection of vintage pieces, as well as their favorite L.L.Bean home classics.”

L.L.Bean’s new Home store is designed with an old-time general store feel and features unique lighting, tin ceilings and custom fixtures made from locally reclaimed and recycled materials. In the tradition of the historic Flagship store, the new Home store will be open 24 hours every day.



Martha Stewart Living Brand Develops Products For Home Depot Stores

The Home Depot and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia have developed an exclusive Martha Stewart Living brand of home improvement products in select categories including Outdoor Living, Home Organization and Home Decor.

“Our partnership with Martha Stewart is a natural fit. For years both organizations have been the go-to destination for consumers seeking ideas and information regarding their home improvement projects,” said Frank Blake, CEO, The Home Depot.

The Outdoor Living line will consist of many different styles of patio dining and conversation sets, while the Home Organization category will feature a new closet organization system and a versatile nine-cube organizational unit.



Duracell Launches Smart Power Initiative

SRS Energy Produces New Solar Roof Tile

Moen Introduces Eco-Performance Faucets

Moen’s new Eco-Performance kitchen faucets allow users to switch between three water-flow settings. For everyday tasks homeowners can choose new eco-performance standard or aerated spray modes. However, for tasks that require a set amount of water, such as filling a pot -- they can press a button, which brings the flow back to the standard 2.2 gpm rate.

Good Housekeeping Tour Reaches 11 U.S. Cities

In celebration of the 100th birthday of the Good Housekeeping Seal, the magazine’s famous emblem of quality, Good Housekeeping magazine has created an interactive, traveling exhibit that recreates the Good Housekeeping Research Institute, where product evaluations are conducted. Visitors will see the various tests products must go through to earn the Seal. GHRI on Tour presented by IKEA will make stops in 11 markets, transported via an environmentally-responsible low-emission vehicle. Visitors can also enter to win a room makeover from IKEA.

Culligan is sponsoring the Kitchen Appliances & Technology Lab, where the performance of all appliances and utensils used in preparing food are reviewed. GHRI on Tour also features an additional six interactive labs with diorama-style windows that provide a look inside, along with a video of each lab's director explaining the products he/she evaluates. The exhibit also includes areas devoted to the magazine's environmental initiatives; and touch screen TVs with trivia games.



Interactive Schlage LiNK Endcap Display

This interactive Schlage LiNK Endcap display for Lowes includes product spinners and an LCD video with push button selection. It features a large back panel to explain features and benefits. Schlage wanted to create an eye-catching endcap display to promote its new LiNK product that educated the consumer, promoted the brand and the interactive feature allowed the customers a hands-on experience with the product. Husqvarna Hardware Demonstration Station

This program consists of freestanding wall displays with slat wire back panels for flexible plan-o-grams providing a commanding brand presence for Husqvarna in outdoor power equipment dealers. A merchandising island establishes a Husqvarna specific territory on the retail floor. Various configurations allow different product lines to be featured in prominent locations within the store. Shown in its chain saw configuration, specific material for the shelf, chain and blade receptacles was researched to withstand the abuse of the chain as it is removed by consumers. New Leaf Candle Display

Candle-Lite is using this environmentally friendly display to promote its eco-friendly New Leaf scented candles. The display is made of unfinished medium density fiberboard which is CARB Phase l compliant. The unit uses biscuits made of l00% recycled hardwood and water soluble glue. The graphics are digitally printed on "Green to the Core," a biodegradable rigid media. The display ships knocked down to minimize its carbon footprint. The display is 100% recyclable. DeWalt Literature Display

DeWalt produces power tools for electrical wholesalers. DeWalt licensed a publisher to produce books to help contractors studying for their licensing test. This display was supplied to wholesalers to have books available for their employees taking the test. The display features melamine with silkscreen logos. Surefire Display Tower

Surefire LLC wanted a modular display tower that would merchandise its products, "The World's Finest Illumination Tools for High Risk Professionals." The display is constructed of aluminum components, acrylic laminated wood and stainless steel hardware. The conceptual designs were created by Pull Design Build of Colorado Engineering and the manufacturing of the display was done by Concept Displays, 434 E. Alondra Blvd., Gardena, CA 90248. Milwaukee: M12 Endcap

Milwaukee wanted a display that would showcase all tools, accessories and packaging. The display was required to offer consumer accessible sample tools and the display was to ship fully assembled ready to accept the product. This endcap display features laser cut Milwaukee shelf emblems. The unit was produced with a CNC cut red komatex back panel. The display is 53"H x 24"D x 57"W. Fluke Mobile Merchandiser

The Fluke Mobile Merchandiser encourages customers to "test" Fluke products by getting them out from behind a sales counter where they are traditionally merchandised. The shelves have the operational test tools secured with a retractable cable. The display cabinet merchandises product on wire grid hooks, secured behind a locking clear door. Midway Displays offers its patented clipper display now available with a new spider base. This base comes with or without casters.
