Whirlpool Display Helps Consumers ‘Just Imagine’

Inglis Limited, manufacturers of the Whirlpool brand, wanted to differentiate its product and focus consumer attention on the features and benefits.

Inglis commissioned Creative Displayworks Corporation of Ontario, Canada, to design and produce an enclosure for its Catalyst washer and Senseon dryer.

A 59”W x 33”D x 6”H wooden enclosure at the base of the units backed by a 75”H x 55”W metal framework, provided substantial signage capacity, visible from both sides, with significant emphasis on the Whirlpool logo, which encourages consumers to “Just Imagine” the products in their home. Units were shipped with signage mounted to the metal framework and the base knocked-down for easy on-site assembly.


Energy Star Clean Up Sweepstakes Launched

Consumers can enter to win an Energy Star qualified clothes washer during the Energy Star Clean Up Sweepstakes at any Fred Meyer store in the Northwest.

“Every participating Fred Meyer store will give away one Energy Star-qualified clothes washer, meaning 110 consumers will walk away with a top-of-the-line, resource-efficient machine from Equator, Fisher & Paykel, Frigidaire, or Whirlpool, which have donated the prizes,” said Margie Gardner, Executive Director for the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance.

Entry forms are available at the Energy Star Clean Up Sweepstakes display in the grocery section of the stores.

Simmons Features Beautyrest Interactive Demo Stand

Simmons Company needed an upscale contemporary demo stand with an interactive unit that would highlight product not the display. The display needed to hold various demo units, include a prerecorded message and show material samples.

ACS Marketing Inc., Milwaukee, WI, developed an eye-catching contemporary display containing a push-button activated voice chip module explaining the product’s benefits directly to the consumer. The sturdy unit is constructed of 2” bent tubing, metal and acrylic. Product literature is housed in slots above a graphic panel which explains more about the product line. The box spring and mattress demos sit on the clear shelves and appear to levitate in space, drawing the customer to the display. There are five compartments containing the actual materials used in the Beautyrest mattress with a transparent screened description panel. This contemporary unit met with immediate success.


Maytag’s Introduces Wide-By-Side Refrigerator

Maytag’s new Wide-By-Side refrigerator offers the widest available refrigerator and freezer space in a traditional side-by-side refrigerator. While the side-by-side configuration is stylish, it can bring storage issues. The Wide-By-Side allows for more refrigerator space within the footprint of a traditional side-by-side refrigerator.


Kitchen Companion Decontaminates Foods

Cyclopss Corp., Salt Lake City, UT, is introducing a new consumer appliance for the decontamination of foods. The Eco-Pure Kitchen Companion treats produce and poultry in a counter-top appliance that uses activated oxygen (Ozone) in cold water to kill E. Coli, Salmonella, Listeria and other micro-organisms on contact.


La-Z-Boy And WebTV Launch New ‘E-Cliner’ La-Z-Boy and WebTV Networks have introduced the “Explorer,” the first “e-cliner.” Those who purchase “Explorer” will receive a Sony WebTV Plus Internet Receiver, keyboard and two free months of WebTV Plus interactive service. “This relationship allows WebTV Networks and La-Z-Boy to reach new audiences,” said Kevin Wixted, Marketing Director, La-Z-Boy. “We’ve developed the most technologically advanced recliner for consumers to be comfortable with interactive TV, e-mail and the Internet.”


CDA Industries Inc., Pickering, Ontario, Canada, will be showing this Lowe's Tower Wallpaper Display with Wave Header. The wave simulates wallpaper in an environment more than straight exposure. The display also includes small samples as a take home feature. The display enables the consumer to examine both the wallpaper and the boarders. SEARS UPRIGHT GARDEN MERCHANDISER. This unit efficiently displays a variety of saws and blowers in a vertical fashion as opposed to horizontally, taking up less shelf space. It allows consumer to interact with the products while they are being merchandised. The system allows Sears to merchandise one blower every 12 inches, less than a quarter of the space required previously. LOWE'S ALEXANDER JULIAN WALLPAPER FIXTURE. This display offers a new line of wallpapers and borders that joins a previous original line of wallpapers. The unit features neutral colors enabling the products shown to stand out. The display makes available large samples for consumers to take home and match with their surroundings. Cal-Floor Accessories System

This display has the ability to show the complete line of over 70 accessories on a single unit. Graphics panels on the display assist the consumer in deciding which items are best for his own application. Brand awareness was increased by promoting the full line of floor accessories. All of the displays produced were distributed and turned the nationwide chain of Carpet One Stores into full line, one stop shopping stores. Hayward Industries Pool Equipment Display

Hayward Industries required a display to merchandise its pool equipment. This permanent “Shop-Around” display was designed and built for the “Above Ground” market. The display places the product in an attractive setting and helps secure a prominent position in the store. In addition the consumer is provided with valuable information. The display is fabricated of steel with screen printed plastic and various accents. The Hayward Industries Pool Equipment Display was created by Mark Novak & Associates 149 N. BonaKemi Deluxe Floor Care Center

BonaKemi required an attractive, easy-to-assemble, floor maintenance merchandiser. The display needed to incorporate all of BonaKemi's maintenance products and accessories, and maximize inventory while conforming to a small footprint. It had to be movable to meet the retailer's cross-merchandising needs. This handsome, pre-finished red oak hardwood display features furniture-grade construction with box joint corners for durability and strength. The merchandiser offered an upscale look associated with the many brands of BonaKemi wood floor maintenance products. The free-standing floor rack's compact vertical design maximized inventory in 3.25 sq. ft. footprint with four shelves, self-contained mop holders and plexiglass literature holders. Reports indicate that the client is very pleased with the display's look its intended purpose and the initial response in the marketplace. Lutron® Electronics Demonstrator For Lighting Controls

This display features a fully operational display demonstrator for lighting controls, made to resemble the façade of a house. This unit is a sales tool to demonstrate the LUTRON® Radio RA™ wireless central home lighting control system. The displays are placed mainly in upscale lighting showrooms where consumers can "test drive" the system in order to make an educated purchase. The unit allows sales people and shoppers to explore the benefits of the lighting controls by illuminating and dimming various room scenes with the actual products which are wired in the display. The Radio RA® House has enjoyed tremendous reception by both store owners and consumers. The Lutron® Electronics Demonstrator For Lighting Controls was created by Charles A.
