Office Depot Displays Disaster Preparedness Strategies
Office Depot recently conducted a Hurricane Preparedness Contest for Small Businesses, to help small businesses prepare for a potential disaster. Each of three winning businesses received a $5,000 Office Depot gift card and a special on-site consultation with a business continuity expert.
The Office Depot Hurricane Preparedness Contest for Small Businesses was developed to underscore the importance of readiness planning and demonstrate the availability of simple, affordable solutions to safeguard a company's most important assets: its people and its data.
Special displays in Office Depot stores featured products to help businesses prepare for potential disasters.
Watt Stopper/Legrand Launches Merchandising Program
Watt Stopper-Legrand, Santa Cruz, CA, has launched a Go Green merchandising program to promote sales of energy efficient lighting controls.
At the heart of the campaign are modular product displays with samples of commercial or residential controls alongside application guidelines. Showing actual samples of the new low profile sensors is the best way to communicate to customers just how attractive they really are, and displaying a variety of products helps customers select the right sensors for each project. Distributors choose display modules with products best suited for their target markets. Modules can be mounted in free-standing or wall-hanging displays or configured for countertop placement for increased visibility.
Timbertech Displays New Fence Products
TimberTech Inc., Wilmington, OH, is using this display to launch its new FenceScape fence products. FenceScape composite fencing products are made from reclaimed wood fibers and pure plastic resins with a rich, natural wood pattern.
This display educates consumers about a maintenance free fence that has the look of wood and is available in four different plank styles -- the 3 1/2” & 5 1/2” dog ear and the 3 1/2” and 5 1/2” square cut. The display also illustrates the different ways to use the planks -- as a picket, privacy or shadowbox fence.
The renforced fence rail is highlighted to customers with a cut-away in the rail.
Brass handles mounted to the fence posts on either side of the display encourage consumers to touch the display.
This display was created for TimberTech by Downing Retail Display, a Copley, OH-based point-of-purchase display firm.
Huge Nail Attracts Shoppers To Display
Techtronic Industries, Anderson, SC, needed to attract general contractors and carpenters to its line of Professional Nail Guns.
The display’s creative and utilitarian elements are manufactured from materials to withstand the contractor dealer environment: steel, wire, wood, steel tubing and molded components.
This display was created for Techtronic Industries by United Displaycraft, Des Plaines, IL.
Clorox Co. Introduces Green Works
Clorox Co. has introduced Green Works cleaners, made from plant-based ingredients. Green Works is made from ingredients derived from coconuts and lemon oil. The products are formulated to be biodegradable, non-allergenic, and packaged in bottles that can be recycled. The Green Works line includes five natural cleaning products for use in the home, kitchen and bathroom.

bioMETRX and Master Lock Co., have launched the Master Lock smartTOUCH garage door opener at Home Depot stores. The garage door opener recognizes its users through the simple touch of a finger.
“The Master Lock smartTOUCH Garage Door Opener offers consumers the convenience of opening their garage door without keys, remotes or keypads,” said Steve Hedlund, V.P., Growth & Innovation for Master Lock.
Great Northern Corporation will be showing the Scotts Roundup 56 ct. pallet display. The pallet system offers 4-sided shopping and features common structural components which saves over-packaging and reduces the assembly process as well as energy and costs. Candle-Lite Permanent Display. This display was designed to provide a permanent environment for Candle-Lite's new fragrance collection. The primary construction of the unit is Melamine clad MDF. Shelf sides are actual pine that are heat "branded". The display assembles in minutes, due to shelf clips. Fabricated Styrene header panels attach with "Christmas Tree" push fasteners. Ryobi Lithium Home Depot Endcap. This display successfully supported the national launch of the new Ryobi One+™ Lithium-ion battery and new tool family in Home Depot. The unit created attention announcing the new product introduction and created dominant brand presence. The heavy duty base allows for easy tool presentation for consumers. Pottery Barn Paint Color Solution Center
The Pottery Barn Paint Color Solution Center showcases new colors in sample sizes produced by Benjamin Moore & Co.. Consumers take the custom paint samples home to experiment, and then return to the retailer to buy gallon-size paints. The counter display was created with a vacuum form structure. The curved shape and contemporary color attract consumer attention. Its internal design enables the unit to accommodate the weight of 60 paint samples, which are shipped as prepacked counter displays. The displays ship with paint samples preloaded and installed. RHINO Floorstand
RHINO designs and manufactures easy-to-use and affordable label printers for cabling contractors, security system installers, electrical supply stores and distributorships. They required a display to educate consumers about the different features of these new products. The display had to be easily restocked and organized. The design features RHINO's trademark orange and black color design. The unit houses compete labeling systems from guns to tapes in one compact footprint and provides product information. The RHINO Floorstand was created by New Dimensions Research Corp., 260 Spagnoli Road, Melville, NY 11747.
Hunter Fan Permalife Display
This display was designed for the Hunter Fan Company. The unit, named the Twin Pack Display, features two Hunter Fan air purifiers. The customer is encouraged to purchase two units so that they can be placed in multiple environments. The display created a strong presence for Hunter Fan Company and achieved increased sales at Sams Club. The unit measures 27"h x 43"w x l2" d and weighs a surprisingly light 22 lbs. Armstrong Vinyl Tile Merchandiser
This object of this display was to create a new, more compact unit yet with a larger capacity. The unit is used in Architectural Firms, Graphic Design Studios and Specifiers' offices. The display features a ¾" MDF Back Panel and is hung on a wall using a metal cleat for easy, yet firm installation. The structure of the unit is made from wire and sheet metal. Armstrong found substantial increases in sales of the VCT product in response to this new, higher capacity display. The Armstrong VCT Merchandiser was created by United Displaycraft, 333 E. "All-Natural" Fertilizer Display
This display introduces a new "all-natural" fertilizer which is environmentally friendly and is actually l00% worm poop, marketed in used soda bottles, thereby reducing waste in the environment through the sale of the product. The display’s green graphics illustrate the product benefits and reinforce the environmentally friendly nature of the product. Alpak Display Group was selected for this project in part because of its commitment to pursuing environmentally friendly P.O.P. Alpak was one of the first display companies in the country to convert its oil-based press into a water-based press and one of the first to set up an in-house ink-treatment waste system. Alpak makes its own paper utilizing state-of-the-art corrugating processes eliminating waste and residue. This All Natural Fertilizer display was created by Alpak Display Group, 575 N.
