Walton Floostand Features Its Protecto Mats
The Walton Company, Huntington Beach, CA is using this compact floorstand to feature its Protecto Mat cork mats.
The display is on casters, making it easy for retailers to roll the unit to high traffic areas or near complementary products for high margin impulse sales.
The unit is flexible for merchandising different mat assortments. It may be used in one-sided or two-sided configurations. The display can provide up to 12 product facings, and hold hundreds of mats in a minimum of floor space.
Color photos on on the display illustrate popular product applications. The display also features a literature holder offering a consumer guide.
Dinner Candles Featured On Compact Merchandiser
Old Port Of America, importer/distributor of candles, candle holders and accessories, Chicago, IL, recently introduced this compact merchandiser for its new "Many Colors" line of straight sided dinner candles.
These candles are smokeless, dripless and the color is solid all the way through. Candles burn better than 1" per hour and are available in 30 different colors and in both 7" and 12" sizes.
The merchandiser holds over $2,000 at retail in less than three square feet of floor space.
Housewares Industry Hits $58.4 Billion
U.S. housewares industry sales reached $58.4 billion last year, according to the National Housewares Manufacturers Association, Rosemont, IL. Electric housewares, at more than $10 billion in retail sales, remains the largest category in the industry. Tabletop accounted for $7.8 billion, cookware/bakeware rang up $7.6 billion and decorative accessories were $6.5 billion. The top five categories, which also include space organizers, ($4.3 billion) made up 63% of total housewares sales.
Discount stores/supercenters enjoyed the strongest growth of any retail channel, accounting for one-third of U.S. housewares sales. Discount stores/supercenters account for three times the volume ($16.8 billion) of department stores ($5.3 billion) or specialty stores ($4.7 billion). Sales through hardware stores/home centers grew by over $1 billion last year, to $4.5 billion .
Martha Stewart Everyday Garden Furniture Debuts
Building on its successful retailing partnership, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and Kmart have debuted Martha Stewart Everyday Garden, a collection of outdoor furniture for the home and garden. Available exclusively at Kmart, Martha Stewart Everyday Garden brings how-to and mix-and-match concepts to the outdoor garden just like Martha Stewart Everyday is doing for indoor decorating. The initial program includes 10 hand-crafted furniture collections, as well as specially designed garden tools and pots, and horticultural products.
In support of the launch, the average Kmart garden center will feature a 20- by 40-foot furniture display and approximately 20 linear feet of tools and accessories. Special signs and unique fixtures will highlight the Martha Stewart Everyday Garden assortment within Kmart stores.

The display was designed as a cross-promotion piece for McDonalds, Johnsonville, and The Weber Grill Company. The promotion was used in an in-store contest/giveaway for the Milwaukee/McDonalds Co-op. SEARS FAUCET DISPLAY. This unit holds more faucets than previous displays and is easy to set up and adaptable to two different store layouts. Majestic Hardwood Flooring Display
This impactful metal hardwood sample display was designed to merchandise 24 hardwood flooring patterns and colors as well as a cleaning product. It also provides product information. The display features a 4-color process silk screen laser cut header sign and has a metallic green powder finish. The display achieved increased distribution in floor covering retail stores and sales.
