Eureka Displays Yellow Jacket Central Vacuum System

Electrolux Home Care is introducing the Eureka Yellow Jacket, a built-in cleaning system that offers the power and convenience of a central vacuum system to apartments, condos or smaller homes.

The Yellow Jacket features a compact power unit that is about one-third the size of an upright vacuum. It easily installs inside a typical kitchen or bathroom cabinet.

The display is constructed of 3/4” HDPB with a white low pressure laminate finish on the side and door. The counter is gray, low pressure laminate and the kickboard is black.

The full color header sign is printed on 6mm Sintra. A fluorescent light under the counter attracts attention to the display and the product. The display’s floor graphic is adhered to a Sintra panel.

The display is designed to help shoppers envision how the Yellow Jacket Central Vacuum System could benefit their homes.



Black & Decker Edge Hog POP Display

The “Edge Hog” is a tool for the homeowner looking for a clean cut line along driveways, sidewalks, etc. Black & Decker wanted a display that would educate the consumer about the product and its many functions and features.

The display provides an informative poster and a tool mount. It features a lifelike grass lawn, and interlocking paving stones, to help the consumer envision how the tool works.

The display was created by Wire Worx Displays Inc., a Toronto, Canada-based p.o.p. display firm.



Lowe’s Survey Reveals Women Homeowners Prefer Less Sewing, More Mowing

Today’s woman is more independent than ever when it comes to the home, according to the fifth annual national survey of female homeowners and females considering homeownership commissioned by Lowe’s.

The survey findings reveal that 81% of female DIYers surveyed perform landscaping and gardening projects, and nearly half (48%) engage in exterior maintenance work. 56% of women surveyed report that they work in their yard and garden at least once a week, and 41% surveyed would rather mow their lawn and perform outdoor activities, compared to 14% who prefer sewing and clothing repair.

“Now more than ever, women are confident in their abilities to take on home improvement projects like maintaining the lawn, grilling or even cleaning gutters,” said Melissa Birdsong, V.P. Trend Forecasting & Design for Lowe’s.

Some 91% of women DIYers surveyed are responsible for the majority of home improvement decisions in their household, either solely or jointly. The modern woman is very much in step with upgrading her home with nearly one-third managing projects and another 48% collaborating with their spouse on projects around the house. The survey also indicates that 88% of female DIYers surveyed undertake home improvement projects by themselves, primarily to cut costs, representing a jump of nearly 10 percentage points from three years ago.

Weber Introduces Outdoor Gas Fireplace

Weber-Stephen combines all the ambience of a roaring fire with the convenience of gas with its Weber Flame outdoor gas fireplace. The fireplace features a heavy-duty base, wheels for easy movement and a push button ignitor that lights the fireplace as effortlessly as a Weber grill.

“People are looking for products such as the Weber Flame to make their outdoor rooms as beautiful and inviting as possible,” said Brooke Jones, Weber Brand Manager.

Marvin Windows Introduces Venting Picture Window

Marvin Windows and Doors’ new Venting Picture Window offers the difficult-to-achieve combination of unobstructed views and ventilation.

The window projects outward to reveal a screened-in opening that helps vent stagnant air, reduce condensation and keep insects out-all without disrupting the view.



Homes of Color magazine, the first national home magazine for African-Americans and IKEA, have partnered to celebrate the kitchen and family room as the nucleus of African-American living. The 1,500 sq. ft. Home & Heritage Exhibit premiered at the Commerce & Industry Show at the NAACP 2006 National Convention in Washington D.C. Renowned architect Josiane Raphael, and IKEA combined creative talents to blend a kitchen, family room and outdoor living room to demonstrate a space that is mindful of the home as the foundation of the African-American family.



IKEA Runs Everyday Fabulous Exhibit

IKEA recently invited consumers to visit the IKEA Everyday Fabulous Exhibit during the International Contemporary Furniture Fair across the street from the Javits Center in New York City.

The exhibit challenged the creativity of visitors in their own homes. The exhibit starred everyday furnishings-such as an EKTORP sofa and a $69 bookcase, that illustrate the concept of “Everyday Fabulous.”

IKEA invited everyone to visit the Everyday Fabulous Exhibit (no admission), even dogs and babies.



Shelf Management System

This Shelf Management System can go from a simple rack to a sophisticated gravity feed system. The system features in-house engineering plus on-site manufacturing capabilities to produce a total solution from a single source. The system is constructed of wire and is an economical custom-from-stock merchandising fixture. Scotch Brite Quarter Pallet Display

This self shipping display was designed to be used in mass and grocery channels to promote various new launch products. A stackable, self supporting tray was designed to hold a variety of product configurations utilizing the same tray. The display is shopable from two sides and has great impact from all views. Complete assembly, packing of product and distribution of displays was provided. The Scotch Brite Quarter Pallet Display was created by Great Northern Consumer Packaging and Display, l800 South Street, Racine, WI 53404.



llio Custom 3 Shelf Display

This display was created to merchandise llio Modern Air Diffusers. llio's main focus had been the shelves, but this floor display allowed them to capture a whole other area. The display consists of a 3 shelf tray, a base and a header card. The display is a stock 4 shelf corrugated unit (SDF-l00) which was used as a blueprint for the display. The header card is printed with a 4 color Litho Label while the rest of the display was flood coated gray to draw attention to the products in the display. This unit was shipped out in its own bookfold. The llio custom 3 Shelf Display was created by Merchandising Inventives Inc., l665 S. Waukegan Rd., Waukegan, IL 60085.



3M Quarter Pallet Display

This unique display solved several design challenges. The product load is flexible and shopable from two sides. The trays are removable and can be used once the display sells down, and the hook format helps keep the product in a presentable format. The modular design also allowed use of various tray configurations. The 3M Quarter Pallet Display was created by GNC Display Group & Kell Specialty Products, 421 Palmer Street, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729.
