OCC Full Throttle Fragrance Displayed In Wal-Mart

This floorstand was designed to drive sales in Wal-Mart stores for the OCC Full Throttle fragrance, inspired by the Discovery Channel's “American Chopper” television show.

The pre-pack unit design, with set-up taking only a few minutes, was key in gaining placement in Wal-Mart stores.

The OCC fragrance is positioned in the front of the unit, which features the OCC logo. Gift sets are located in the floorstand’s center channel. The corrugated display has a screen printed body, and four-color Litho die-cut header.

A uniquely engineered flap creates a pedestal for a bottle of test cologne resting below the header, allowing consumers to sample the product. The display, grabbed consumer attention and made it easier for the consumer to locate and test this new Full Throttle fragrance.

The OCC Full Throttle Fragrance Floorstand was created by New Dimensions, Melville, NY.



Almay Brand Featured On New Wall System Display

This injection molded wall system was created for Wal-Mart to increase SKU capacity, create an easy to shop product presentation utilizing graphic bull nose category identifiers, and visually separate Revlon’s Almay from competitive brands.

The merchandising system was produced in 8 ft, 6 ft, 4 ft, and 2 ft increments to accommodate a multiple of Wal-Mart store sizes and configurations.

The new injection molded wall system was created for Wal-Mart by Retail Solution Center and its subsidiary, RSC Molding, a Freeport, NY-headquartered display firm.



Huggies Launches Little Swimmers Sunscreen

Kimberly-Clark is conducting a major extension of its market-leading Huggies Little Swimmers brand with the launch of a new line of sun care products.

The new products are the first extension of the Huggies Little Swimmers brand, which created the disposable swimpants category in 1998.

The Huggies Little Swimmers sun care product line includes three sunscreen lotions and the market’s only patented, self-adhesive UVB sun sensors geared to help detect and monitor children's exposure to Ultraviolet B rays that cause sunburn and are most commonly linked to skin cancer.

“With the rollout of these sun care products, Huggies Little Swimmers becomes the only brand to offer moms a total health and hygiene solution to ensure a fun water play experience for their kids,” said Bob Thibault, President, Kimberly-Clark Personal Care.

Point-of-sale materials, including colorful pallet displays, will support Huggies entry into this new category.



Duane Reade Establishes Flagship Diabetes Resource Center

Duane Reade, a leading drug store chain in the New York metropolitan area, has launched the Diabetes Resource Center, a premier educational facility for individuals with diabetes, located at 1889 Broadway in New York City. The Center is open to the public and free of charge. The first of its kind, the Center offers a full range of services and educational training to encourage the adoption of lifestyle changes that can help promote long-term good health. The program is managed and taught by licensed pharmacists and certified diabetes educators and consists of educational classes, scheduled appointments and walk-in service.

Kaliroi Brodin, Duane Reade’s Director of Health & Wellness Services, said, “By partnering with local health care professionals, we hope to become a one-stop destination where individuals with diabetes can come to acquire the tools necessary to take care of their health.”



Harmony Pharmacy Opens At Newark Airport To Transform Drugstore Experience

Harmony Pharmacy is the first retail pharmacy to open at Newark Liberty International Airport, transforming the way today’s on-the-go traveler can seek healthcare and shop in an elegant and service-oriented environment.

From dispensing prescriptions to offering access to an on-site nurse practitioner, Harmony Pharmacy brings together the best aspects of a traditional European pharmacy coupled with a service focused staff to reach today’s busy traveler. Harmony Pharmacy also offers a broad array of preventative assistance and screening services, such as flu shots and vaccinations.

Harmony plans to expand to other airport and non-airport locations.



Blue Cross Unveils Concept Retail Store

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida has unveiled “Florida Blue,” a new concept in retailing geared to assist consumers’ navigation of the health insurance market.

Located in the St. John’s Town Center in Jacksonville, Florida Blue will sell health and ancillary products such as dental and life insurance as well as provide educational and informational seminars for consumers on health care and health coverage related issues.

The Company said the store, one of the first of its kind nationally, is a new concept in the health insurance arena and is one additional component of BCBSF's move to a consumer-empowered retail environment.

Blue Cross believes Florida Blue will be a success even if consumers do not sign up for BCBSF products on the spot, because it will expose potential customers to BCBSF's extensive portfolio of products and services in a no-pressure environment and favorable way.



RGX Bodyspray From Right Guard Introduced

Henkel’s Dial Corp. is stirring up the U.S. male grooming fragrance market with the introduction of RGX Bodyspray from Right Guard. The goal is to expand the bodyspray market by targeting RGX at more mature, self-confident young males. According to Stephen Koven, Brand Manager at Dial, “We believe a prime customer for bodysprays has been ignored. He is a ‘regular guy’-old enough to be independent and spend his own money and confident enough not to want to overpower women with his fragrance.



This exhibit was created for Colgate Total toothpaste at the American Dental Association’s recent Exhibition. The Colgate exhibit included an integrated experience “The Living Proof,” that took attendees through a blood vessel-like tunnel to learn how the active ingredients in Colgate Total promote good systemic health. LED lighting contributed a glowing red ambiance while gobo lighting created the illusion of blood cells moving through the passage. The Colgate exhibit and experience was developed by 3D Exhibits, Elk Grove Village, IL, and marketing agency RK Associates.



L'Oreal ProManicure Nail Trays

This L'Oreal display uses a perfectly shaped nail to display color, the first time a major cosmetic company has used this technique at mass, rather than a printed color strip or a small color chip. The surface area of the nail is large enough to give a true color representation. This perfectly manicured nail is an inspiration to women and reinforces the salon quality color and application. This display won a Gold OMA in the Cosmetics Category and was created by POP Displays, 555 Tuckahoe Road, Yonkers, NY 10710.



CVS Top of Checkout Rack

CVS wanted to create a positive impression at the checkout, while merchandising magazines and other impulse items, with minimal obstructions. The display adjusts to hold magazines of different sizes. Its flexibility is key to respond to changing planograms. Numerous slots allow trays and peghook positions to be customized. The trays are interchangeable to hold different size products. Graphics slide in and out to update feature items. This display won a Gold OMA in the Drug Store Retailer Category and was created by POP Displays, 555 Tuckahoe Rd., Yonkers, NY 10710.



Gillette Fusion Phantom Launch Display. This display introduced the Gillette Fusion Phantom razor to consumers in an exciting and innovative way, while maintaining the Fusion brand identity. Fusion colors and background patterns were used to attract consumers to the display which also featured the 3D razor and flashing light. Created by Rand-Whitney Retail, 1 Agrand St., Worcester, MA 01607. BRONZE AWARD.



Elizabeth Arden Target Perfume Tester. This display enables shoppers to sample its fragrance line in Target stores. The display showcases 16 Elizabeth Arden fragrances in solid, compact form while stimulating consumer trial and gaining attention on-shelf. Created by Mechtronics Corporation, 1 New King Street, White Plains, NY 10604. BRONZE AWARD.
