Dresser Wayne Helps Zarco 66 Earth Friendly Fuels Go Green
Dresser Wayne, a global marketer of retail fuel dispensers and technologies, and Zarco 66 Earth Friendly Fuels celebrated a new landmark in alternative fueling with the grand opening of a sustainable site in Lawrence, Kansas. The Zarco 66 location not only dispenses ethanol and biodiesel produced within a 75 mile radius of the facility, the station represents an innovative vision of sustainable construction and energy consumption.
Dubbed the “Green Energy Gateway Fuel Station,” the station and coffee shop will serve as a model as the organization establishes standards and guidelines for other retail fuel businesses that want to incorporate green practices. The EPA is using the station as a pilot demonstration project. The EPA will evaluate the energy and pollution reduction benefits of the pilot and plans to develop a framework for other fuel stations that wish to “go green.”
ECOnvenience Center Opens First Outlet
Good to Go, the nation's first ecologically friendly convenience store, car wash and alternate fuel station is set to open in Grand Chute, WI. Built to specifications of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program, Good To Go expects to become LEED-certified as the first fueling station, car wash and convenience retail shop in the U.S.
The car wash will use a water cleaning and reclamation system that will save more than two million gallons of fresh water each year. The car wash uses bio-friendly detergents, efficient LED lighting and natural sunlight to cut down on electricity use. It features a green roof with plants and sod that minimize absorption of sunlight. The company plans to bring Good to Go to at least 150 more neighborhoods in Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois by 2010.

HSBC Launches “Green” Credit Card
HSBC Finance Corp. has introduced a credit card that gives consumers the opportunity to use earned rewards to make a contribution to a variety of environmental causes. The HSBC ecosmart MasterCard with Plus Rewards leverages HSBC’s commitment to provide environmental-friendly products to consumers.
Card members will receive one reward point for every dollar spent on the new card and may redeem the points in the form of charitable donations to organizations dedicated to environment preservation. Customers will have a variety of charitable organizations to choose from, including those partners in the HSBC Climate Partnership: The Climate Group, Earthwatch Institute and Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute. Card members will also have the option to redeem reward points for environmental-friendly merchandise such as a rechargeable mulching mower or a garden composter.
Trinity Oaks Announces ‘One Bottle, One Tree’ Campaign

Red Bull Recognizes Importance Of Green Transportation With Hybrid Trucks
Red Bull’s first fleet of diesel hybrid electric trucks achieve 30-40% better fuel efficiency and emit up to 33% less hydrocarbon emissions versus standard diesel trucks.
“We’re proud that Red Bull recognizes the importance of green transportation for the environment,” said Jim Williams, director, sales and distribution, new products, Navistar, which supplied the hybrid trucks to Red Bull.
Each truck is estimated to save nearly $4,000 in fuel costs per year, and provide up to $40,000 in fuel cost savings over its 7-10 year lifespan.
