PepsiCo's Gatorade Taps Andrea Fairchild As V.P. Of Brand Marketing

The Gatorade Company, a division of PepsiCo, has appointed Andrea Fairchild as its new Vice President of Brand Marketing. In her new role, Fairchild will help guide and implement the Gatorade brand's overall strategic vision, beginning with the spring 2010 launch of the G Series. Fairchild most recently served as the Global Business Development Director for Women’s Training at Nike, Inc.


Diamond Foods Promotes Andrew Burke To Chief Marketing Officer

Diamond Foods has promoted Andrew Burke to Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President. Burke has led Diamond’s marketing group since joining as a Vice President in 2006. He will continue to oversee all marketing activities for the company and will take on the leadership of Diamond Foods' pricing committee. Prior to joining Diamond Foods, Burke was Vice President of Marketing at Ernest & Julio Gallo Winery He spent seven years in strategic brand management at Kraft Foods.


Rite Aid Names Bryan Shirtliff To New Position Of SVP, Business Development

Rite Aid Corp. has named Bryan Shirtliff, currently the company’s Senior Vice President of Category Management, to the new position of Senior Vice President, Business Development.

With this new responsibility, Shirtliff will be charged with developing merchandising initiatives to support the company's store segmentation strategy, which involves grouping together stores with similar characteristics and creating a unique business plan for each group.


A.C. Moore Names R. Arthur As V.P. Marketing

A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts has named Richard Arthur as VP Marketing & Advertising. He will report directly to the Chief Marketing and Merchandising Officer, David Abelman. Arthur a 20 year marketing veteran most recently was Sr. Marketing Director for Michaels Stores.


Hasbro Names Jerry Perez As Global Brand Leader For Preschool Business

Hasbro has appointed Jerry Perez to the position of Sr. VP & Global Brand Leader for the Company's worldwide preschool business. John Frascotti, Hasbro's Global Chief Marketing Officer, said, “Pereze has a comprehensive knowledge of the business, from developing innovative product ideas to the marketing and merchandising of brands and products on a global basis.” Perez has held marketing positions at Fisher-Price, LeapFrog and Learning Curve.


Seattles Best Coffee Appts. New Mktg. Execs

Seattle’s Best Coffee, a brand within the Starbucks Corp. portfolio, has expanded its leadership team. Long-time Starbucks veteran Michelle Gass, has been appointed President, Seattle’s Best Coffee, to lead and grow the brand, and John Wuycheck has been named to fill the new position of VP Franchising Business Development.


L. Sanders Named Pres., Franchising For Friday’s

Carlson Restaurants Worldwide has named Lee Sanders as President of Franchising for T.G.I. Friday’s USA. Sanders joins Friday’s from Johnny Rockets, where he held the position of President & CEO.


United Airlines Names T. O’Toole SVP, CMO

United Airlines has named Thomas O’Toole Sr. VP, Chief Marketing Officer. O’Toole will be responsible for developing and implementing the company’s marketing, contact center and merchandising strategies. With almost 30 years of marketing experience, O’Toole was most recently Chief Marketing Officer for Global Hyatt Corp.


Johnny Rockets Appoints New Mktg. Execs.

Johnny Rockets has appointed Tim Hackbardt as Sr. VP, Marketing. Hackbardt was the founding partner of the White Barn Group, a strategic marketing agency based in San Juan Capistrano, CA, providing services to many top multi-unit restaurant companies. Johnny Rockets has promoted Cozette Phifer Koerber to VP Brand Marketing & Corporate Communications.


Russian Standard Vodka Appoints Michael Stoner, VP Of Marketing

Russian Standard Vodka USA has appointed Michael Stoner to VP Marketing. Stoner will be responsible for leadership of brand and marketing strategy as well as oversight of all marketing initiatives for the Russian Standard Vodka portfolio of brands - Russian Standard, Russian Standard Platinum and Imperia - in the U.S. market.


Universal Music Appts. Berry To Exec. VP Mktg.

Universal Music Group Distribution (UMGD), has appointed Candace Berry to Exec. V.P., Marketing. Most recently, Berry was head of sales for Interscope Geffen A&M (IGA), where she spearheaded sales and marketing efforts on behalf of such chart-topping artists as U2, Lady Gaga, The Black Eyed Peas, Gwen Stefani, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Pussycat Dolls, Sting and Sheryl Crow.


Applebee’s Names D. Bullen V.P. Of Marketing

Applebee’s has named Dawn Bullen Vice President, marketing. Bullen brings 18 years of experience to Applebee’s, where she will be responsible for all national marketing, advertising, media planning and buying as well as neighborhood activation. Before joining Applebee’s, Bullen was Sr. VP at Macy’s. Bullen also served as director of media and integrated marketing for Toys "R" Us.


Supervalu Sells Store Fixture Division To DGS Retail

Payson Store Fixtures, previously a division of Albertsons/Supervalu, has been acquired by DGS Retail, headquartered in Boston, MA. Payson Store Fixtures manufactures store fixtures, millwork and interior decor for supermarkets and retail stores. Peter Stevens, CEO, DGS Retail, said “This acquisition gives us a west coast presence and upgrades services to include millwork, store fixtures and custom interior items, which compliments our existing decor, graphics and signage products.”
