Coca-Cola C2 Debuts
Coca-Cola is introducing Coca-Cola C2, containing half the sugar, carbohydrates and calories of regular colas.
“Coca-Cola C2 was created to specifically address consumer desire for a lower-calorie cola with that great Coca-Cola taste,” said Doug Daft, Chairman and CEO, The Coca-Cola Co.
P&G Launches Pringles Prints
Procter & Gamble has introduced Pringles Prints, which feature a unique design printed on every crisp. The Prints technology allows P&G to customize the crisps by printing words and images in a variety of colors directly on the chip. P&G is teaming up with Hasbro to feature questions and answers from Trivial Pursuit Junior on the chips.
Jamie Egasti, V.P. P&G’s Snacks Div., said, “We have developed a new way to delight consumers by adding fun and excitement to one of kids’ favorite snacks.”
Brown-Forman Debuts One Low Carb Wines
Brown-Forman Wines has launched One.6 Chardonnay and One.9 Merlot, low carbohydrate wines. One.6 Chardonnay has 1.6 carbs and One.9 Merlot has 1.9 carbs per five-ounce glass.
One.6 and One.9 wines will be supported with a $5 million advertising campaign as well as promotional activities and materials.
Bayer HealthCare Launches One-A-Day CarbSmart
Bayer HealthCare has introduced One-A-Day CarbSmart, a multivitamin formulated to provide key nutrients low-carb followers may not be getting enough of.
“We recognized a need to develop a multivitamin supplement that would address a significant gap in nutrient intake for the millions of Americans watching the amount and type of carbohydrates they eat,” said Shane Durkee, Director, Bayer HealthCare.
Heinz One Carb Ketchup Hits Store Shelves
Heinz One Carb Ketchup, a lower carbohydrate, lower sugar and lower calorie version of its traditional Ketchup, has been launched. Heinz One Carb Ketchup contains only one gram of carbohydrates per serving, a 75% reduction from traditional Heinz Ketchup.
‘We are always watching trends in order to meet our consumers’ needs,” said Wendy Beitsinger, Sr. Brand Manager, Heinz Ketchup.
Frito-Lay Launches Rold Gold Heartzels
Frito-Lay has collaborated with the American Heart Association to launch Rold Gold Heartzels which have no saturated fat or cholesterol. These are the first pretzels to meet the Association’s “Heart-check mark” guidelines as a heart healthy food.
“Heartzels are a healthy snack alternative for anyone wanting to control fat intake,” said Tracy LaRosiliere, Frito-Lay V.P., Marketing.
Nintendo DS Announced
Nintendo has announced the Nintendo DS, a portable, dual screen game system. Capabilities such as a touch-screen input, voice recognition and wireless communication set it apart from other game devices.
Code-named Nintendo DS, this “Developers’ System’s” two screens offer two perspectives at once. Voice recognition lets players simply tell the game what they want it to do. Chat software will let users transmit text messages, handwriting and drawings to one another. Wireless functions link players in the same room or across the country.

Zircon, which introduced the first electronic StudSensor™ has announced CenterVision™ technology that pinpoints the stud center, not just the edge. This takes the guesswork out of locating the best place to anchor into a stud.
P.O.P. displays will support the product introduction.
Videonow Video Player For Kids To Launch
Hasbro’s Tiger Electronics has announced plans to launch Videonow Color, an improved portable video player for kids.
Videonow Color combines high caliber programming, easy portability, and a large, back-lit screen. Videonow Color proprietary color personal video discs will be available as well.
Price Pfister Introduces Pullout Bathroom Faucet
Price Pfister has introduced a pullout bathroomfaucet to make cleaning the bathroom sink easier. The Catalina pullout offers four different spray and stream options: hands-free spray, pullout with spray, pullout with stream and a standard stream.
“Homeowners want more functionality from their bathroom faucet,” said Mark Gold, President. “By re-engineering and concealing the pullout spray, Price Pfister has made design its number one priority while simultaneously improving performance.”
Vtech Electronics Unveils V.Smile Learning System
VTech Electronics has announced the V.Smile TV Learning System, which combines educational content, loveable characters and a video game platform in a system that connects directly to the TV for children ages 3 to 7. V.Smile teaches essential skills with game Smartridges(TM).
“VTech saw an opportunity with V.Smile to tap into two things we know kids like--TV and video games--and transform it into the type of engaging educational products we’re known for,” said William To, President, VTech.
Infinium Labs Unveils Phantom Gaming Service
Infinium Labs is launching its Phantom Gaming Service, an on-demand game distribution service. Infinium will provide the Phantom Gaming Service hardware free to consumers who sign a two-year contract for a subscription to its online gaming service.
The new service will offer subscribers a library of titles, and make them available any time, day or night.
