Pepsi-Cola North America has launched Pepsi Vanilla. Full national distribution of 20-oz bottles, 2-liter bottles and 12-pack cans, as well as 24-pack cubes is expected by September.
Pepsi Vanilla and Diet Pepsi Vanilla are broadly targeted to teens and adults. Aggressive introductory marketing support includes media advertising, sampling, and p.o.p. materials.
Baileys Liqueur Launches Single Serve Size
Baileys Minis, a 100-ml single serve version of Baileys Original Irish Cream, has been launched.
Now offered in handy four-packs suitable for the refrigerator, Baileys Minis allow for a more convenient way to enjoy this top selling liqueur. Its portable size perfectly lends itself to being brought along to picnics, barbeques and beach parties.
Heinz Launches EZ Marinader
Heinz has introduced EZ Marinader, the first ready-to-use liquid marinade in a flavor-seal marinating bag. The product eliminates the need for a bowl. It is used by simply placing meat, poultry, vegetables or fish in the bag.

Motts Debuts Light Hawaiian Punch
Motts has introduced Light Hawaiian Punch. “Moms are now able to offer their children their favorite drink with with less sugar and calories,” said Kristen Marshall, Sr. Brand Manager. “Research has shown that parents feel their children are consuming too much sugar. With Light Hawaiian Punch we’re addressing that concern while taking kids taste preferences into account.”
Coca-Cola Introduces Space-Saving Fridge Pack
Coca-Cola is rolling out the Coca-Cola Fridge Pack, an easy-to-store, self-dispensing 12-pack that makes storing and accessing soft drinks in the refrigerator easier.
Dana Barba, Director, Marketing Activation, Coca-Cola N.A., said, “The Fridge Pack allows you to take a 12-pack from the car directly to your refrigerator and easily pull out a can-it’s like having a vending machine in your home.”
Quaker Oatmeal Breakfast Squares Debut
Quaker Oats introduces Quaker Oatmeal Breakfast Squares, the first hand-held breakfast with the nutrition of a bowl of instant oatmeal.

GE Launches Harmony Clothes Care System
The GE Profile Harmony Clothes Care System, is the first washer that communicates electronically to the dryer.
Once the wash options are selected, there’s no need to program the dryer. The washer delivers load information to the dryer, so that once the dryer gets the message, it automatically determines which settings will deliver the best results.
GameCube Game Boy Player Is Launched By Nintendo
Nintendo has introduced the Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Player, which makes it possible to play Game Boy games on a TV through the Nintendo GameCube.
“The video game industry has been pushing to new technical frontiers, while at the same time celebrating classic hit games of the past,” said Peter MacDougall, Exec. V.P., Marketing, Nintendo. “The Game Boy Player fulfills both desires by making Game Boy games playable on a TV.”
Hasbro Debuts VideoNow
Hasbro’s Tiger Electronics has introduced VideoNow, a kid friendly personal video player. The VideoNow proprietary discs offer the hottest names in family entertainment, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Fairly Odd Parents and American Idol.
Brian Goldner, Hasbro’s President, said, “VideoNow’s performance, content and cool design allows tweens and their siblings to enjoy their favorite shows in style.”
Aiwa Unveils Audio System With PC Connectivity
Aiwa is releasing a new concept in audio; the BMZ-K1 home audio system featuring MP3/ CD-R/RW playback and an interactive USB port. Consumers can now easily connect their personal computer to a home audio system and listen to MP3s in high-fidelity stereo sound.
“Easily connected to a PC by a USB port, the BMZ-K1 allows people to enjoy their favorite MP3’s in premium sound, said Hiro Takahashi, Aiwa President.
Milliken Introduces Carpet Panel Systems
Milliken has introduced the Legato and Tesserae Carpet Systems, do-it-yourself residential carpet systems that can be installed directly over hard surfaces including ceramic tiles, concrete, vinyl and hardwood.
The systems’ panels can be easily picked up and replaced in areas affected by staining or excessive wear.
“Homeowners now have more flexibility with their carpeting needs with these new systems,” said noted interior designer and author, Sharon Hanby-Robie.
Insect Repellent Apparel Is Launched
Seattle-based Ex Officio has introduced BUZZ OFF Insect Shield Insect Repellent Apparel, a new line of clothing that provides protection from mosquitoes, ticks and other insects.
The active ingredient is tightly bound to the garment, and, unlike traditional insect repellents, stays on your clothes, not on your skin.
