Frito-Lay Debuts TrueNorth Nut Snack Line

Frito-Lay has launched TrueNorth, a line of 100% natural nut snacks that have 5g of protein in every 1 oz serving. There are three unique nut snacks -- nut clusters, nut crisps and nut crunches. Regan Ebert, V.P., G.M., Frito-Lay, said, “TrueNorth creates nut snacking options that range from reinventing the traditional to new twists that feature nuts as a crisp, reminiscent of a cracker.”


Gillette Introduces Hair Care & Body Wash

Procter & Gamble’s Gillette brand has launched Gillette Hair Care and Gillette Body Wash for men. The new Gillette Hair Care line includes six shampoos and one conditioner. Gillette's new 2in1 Body Washes include: Gillette Gentle Clean Shampoo + Body Wash, Gillette Oil Control Face + Body Wash and Gillette Dry Skin Hydrator + Body Wash. Each body wash features a unique dual-phase technology that keeps cleansers and hydrators in separate internal compartments until they are combined in the shower.


Full Throttle Hydration Energy Drink Is Launched

Full Throttle Hydration, a new, non-carbonated energy drink packed with electrolytes and charged with Full Throttle's special energy/vitamin blend, has been launched. Its tropical mix flavor is now available in 16-ounce aluminum cans.

“Full Throttle Hydration is as refreshing and easy to drink as a sports drink, with the charge of Full Throttle energy,” said Rafael Acevedo, Senior Brand Manager, Energy Drinks, Coca-Cola N.A. To help launch Full Throttle Hydration, Full Throttle has become the official sponsor of kiteboarding, an extreme water sport.

SoBe Life Introduced With PureVia Sweetener

PepsiCo and Whole Earth Sweetener Co.are partnering to introduce a breakthrough, zero-calorie, all-natural sweetener from the stevia plant called PureVia™ in a new nutritionally enhanced PepsiCo beverage called “SoBe Life.” PureViaTM will be available initially in three SoBe Life flavor blends: Tropical Pomegranate, Strawberry-Kiwi and Orange-Tangerine.

Embodi Health Beverage Is Launched

Embodi is the first health beverage to contain a specially developed grape pomace extract made from the skins, seeds, and stems of red wine grapes. This extract provides Embodi with the full-spectrum of red wine’s antioxidants, and resulting health benefits without the side effects of alcohol.


Honda Introduces FCX Clarity Car

American Honda Motor has introduced the FCX Clarity, a next-generation, hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicle. The FCX has a driving range up to 280 miles.

Propelled by an electric motor that runs on electricity generated in the fuel cell, the vehicle's only by-products are heat and water, and its fuel efficiency is three times that of a modern gasoline-powered automobile.


OfficeMax & TerraCycle To Launch Office Product Line ‘Made From Waste’

OfficeMax has partnered with TerraCycle, Inc., to bring a new line of “green” office products to OfficeMax customers. OfficeMax is featuring seven new TerraCycle products, including innovative binders, pencil cases, trashcans and cleaners. TerraCycle manufactures and packages products entirely from waste.

“OfficeMax is pleased to provide our customers with the environmentally responsible products that TerraCycle is pioneering,” said Ryan Vero, Exec. V.P. & Chief Merchandising Officer for OfficeMax.


Giant Bicycle Debuts Hybrid Bicycle Technology

Giant Bicycle has defined a new form of bicycling with Hybrid Cycling Technology, which fuses human and electric power. Hybrid Cycling Technology is found on the company's new Twist Freedom bicycles. EnergyPak lithium ion battery technology and Giant’s proprietary PedalPlus power sensor are technological highlights.

Biodegradable Trance 8 Running Shoe Introduced

Brooks Sports is using BioMoGo, the world's first biodegradable midsole, in the new Trance 8 premium support shoe. Brooks designed BioMoGo to biodegrade 50 times faster than conventional athletic shoe midsoles, making it one of the most significant sustainable technologies to hit the running footwear market.

By using BioMoGo in its shoes, Brooks will save nearly 30 million pounds of landfill waste over a 20-year period.


Eureka’s Envirovac Provides A ‘Greener' Clean

The Eureka envirovac(TM) is an eco-friendlier vacuum that reduces energy consumption, comes with a reusable, washable HEPA filter to lessen waste and utilizes 100 percent recycled cardboard packaging.

“The Eureka envirovac is the ideal vacuum for consumers looking to reduce energy consumption,” said Jackie Cooper, Eureka Marketing Director. “It uses just 960 watts of energy an hour, as opposed to the 1,440 watts of energy used per hour by the standard vacuum.”
