Exhibit Works, one of the nation’s largest exhibit design and fabrication firms, announced that it has taken 110,000 sq. ft. of space in South Orange County, CA, to house a new, full-service operation that will employ a start-up staff of 20 people. Verified attendance for TS2 99 was up more than 3% over last year’s audited number, from 4,077 to 4,206, according to Michael J. Bandy, President of the Trade Show Exhibitors Association (TSEA), sponsors of TS2. A total of 247 exhibiting companies participated in 56,650 net sq. ft. of space.

Creative Management Services and Lincoln Studios have merged to form MC2. By combining capabilities of its predecessor companies, MC2 becomes one of the largest full-service providers in the trade show industry. The Rogers Company, Mentor, OH, recently delivered a dynamic Worldwide Conference for Sterling Commerce. Providing turnkey tradeshow event management services, The Rogers Co. combined the synergies of graphic design, floor plan design, hall management and setup and dismantle firms to effectively showcase Sterling Commerce’s global e-commerce solutions at Lakeside Convention, Center, McCormick Place, Chicago, IL. Big and bold digitally produced graphics, some as large as 10’ x 20’, adorned the conference hotel, outer exhibit hall and registration area. Inside the exhibit hall, overhead space was turned into a display of color coded banners and signs to visually showcase divisions, business partners, new products and services and to facilitate directional flow and navigate attendees. The Folio Group, a Worcester, MA-based exhibit firm, has appointed James McGrath as Exec., V.P., Sales and Marketing. Prior to joining Folio, McGrath spent six years with Exhibitgroup/Giltspur, most recently as V.P., Sales and Marketing. In addition, Michael Hally has been named President of Folio Boston, MA. A new traveling exhibit entitled “Theme Park: The Science of Universal Studios Islands of Adventure,” sponsored by Kodak and Discover Card, has been launched. The 8,000-sq. ft., six-part traveling exhibit explores all aspects of what makes a theme park work, using Universal’s new attraction as a framework. Advance planning, the use of specialized themes, special effects, the use of water, the physics of roller coasters and robotics each are mapped out using an engaging, hands-on approach. “We’ve created a show based on Universal Studios Islands of Adventure,” said Stacy Bishkin, President of BBH Exhibits Inc., the San Antonio-based company that partnered with Universal Studios to build the exhibit.
Explus Inc., a Dulles, VA-based exhibit firm, has named Michael Belyavsky as Creative Director. Belyavsky comes to Explus after 12 years in business as a freelance designer.
