Borden's Classico Italian Corner Debuts In Supermarkets

Borden Italian Foods Co. has introduced the "Classico Italian Corner" designed specifically for supermarket foodservice. The Classico Italian Corner features Classico brand pasta sauces, along with Borden’s Novita fully-cooked pastas. The program is sectioned into modules that the supermarket can tailor to its specific needs.

The hot food module features made-to-order pasta entrees which can be accompanied with meat or vegetable side dishes and fresh baked breadsticks. A deluxe version of the module offers a "create your own meal" feature where the consumer selects their favorite sauce and pasta combination. A children’s menu is available and a family of four can take home their own carry-out, reheatable container filled with their favorite pasta and sauce, along with breadsticks and beverages. Larger portions are also available for catering.

The Classico Italian Corner cold food modules offer both take-and-heat meals as well as fresh pasta salads. The five-pound bags of pre-cooked shelf stable pasta and similarly sized pouches of sauce are easy to portion into plastic food containers for the deli’s self-service merchandisers.

The program also provides the opportunity to merchandise Classico’s retail packaged sauces and dry pastas on the foodservice side of the store. Positioned near the service counter of the concept, these products reinforce brand recognition and offer an opportunity for add-on sales.
