New Interactive Glue Guide Helps Revolutionize Consumer Buying Experience

Pacer Technology has developed the Interactive Glue Guide for the Super Glue Corp., which will help consumers with adhesive-related questions. Supporting the technology launch with a comprehensive consumer campaign, Super Glue will begin placing the Interactive Glue Guide at retail outlets followed by traditional, online and social media outreach.

Using a proprietary system developed by Pacer Technology, the Interactive Glue Guide engages the consumer to call 866-GLUE-911 or simply send the text message "superglue" to 41411. After answering a series of short questions about the materials to be glued, the Interactive Glue Guide provides the name and picture of the correct adhesive for the project or job.

When displayed at the point-of-purchase, the Interactive Glue Guide provides an effective solution for retail outlets by creating order and organization in the adhesives category, reducing labor expenses, and increasing sales through satisfied repeat customers - without any cost to the retailer. Consumers can use the Interactive Glue Guide from their wireless phone or PDA while they are in the store. "Our research shows when consumers cannot determine which adhesive to buy for their project, they often leave the store without making a purchase," said Ron Gravette, President, Pacer Technology. Applebee's Launches 'Unbelievably Great Tasting & Under 550 Calories' Menu

Applebee's has launched its groundbreaking menu featuring five unbelievably tasty entrees, all under 550 calories. The "Unbelievably Great Tasting & Under 550 Calories" menu marks a first for casual dining chains, offering guests unexpected lower-calorie options like steak and potatoes or grilled shrimp and pasta with the same powerful flavors and generous portions guests count on at Applebee's. "We know our guests want choices, including lower-calorie entrees, but they still want meals full of flavor," said Mike Archer, president of Applebee's Services, Inc. "We've created a menu that doesn't compromise. It has all of the taste with none of the trade-offs."

In restaurants now, the Under 550 menu along with the company's Weight Watchers® selections demonstrates Applebee's ongoing commitment to provide guests a variety of great-tasting choices when dining out. Jackson Hewitt Launches 'Big Check' Integrated Campaign

Jackson Hewitt Tax Service® has launched the "Big Check" campaign, which features individual taxpayers, couples and families happily incorporating an oversized refund check into their daily activities - the result of choosing Jackson Hewitt® to help them identify and file for all the deductions and credits they are entitled to receive. The campaign is a new, fully-integrated national advertising campaign that will run across television, radio, print, online, out-of-home, direct mail and in-store during multi-week flights between January and April.

New Secure Shredding Service Comes To OfficeMax From Shred-it

OfficeMax® and Shred-it, a world-leading information security company, have formed a joint partnership to provide a new, convenient secure document destruction service to consumers and small businesses alike. OfficeMax will offer the Shred-it document destruction program at nearly all of the company's more than 1,000 stores nationwide as part of its OfficeMax ImPress® suite of in-store print and document services.

Under the new program, OfficeMax customers will be able to bring unneeded confidential documents for secure destruction to any OfficeMax ImPress counter nationwide. Shred-it will provide on-site locked security consoles that will safely store the materials to ensure privacy. Documents will be stored there securely until destroyed on-site at the OfficeMax location by a Shred-it mobile shredding vehicle, following a tight security process. Once the materials have been destroyed, the OfficeMax location will keep a Certificate of Destruction on file for three years that will be available to customers upon request.

VIZIO announced today it will be one of the first manufacturers to enter the new mobile television market with the introduction of three Razor LED models with a depth of less than 1", including one capable of receiving broadcasts using the new ATSC-M/H mobile/handheld platform that can be operated in moving vehicles. The VMB070 has a 7" display, the VMB090 has a 9" display and the VMB100 has a 10" display. All are scheduled for delivery later this year with MSRPs of $149.99, $199.99, and $229.99 respectively.

Coca-Cola Lights Refurbished Landmark Sign At Historic South-Of-Market San Francisco Location

The Coca-Cola Company recently debuted its newly refurbished, historic Coca-Cola sign located in downtown San Francisco at 701 Bryant St. The relighting also coincides with several environmental initiatives that Coca-Cola is currently introducing in the Bay Area. Coca-Cola has furthered its corporate commitment to environmental sustainability by converting obsolete lighting technology to a state-of-the-art LED display that is 80 percent more energy efficient than the previous sign and has offset 100 percent of the electricity used to power the sign through the purchase of Green-e certified 100 percent wind Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). In this endeavor, Coca-Cola collaborated with Sterling Planet, the nation's leading retail provider of renewable energy, carbon offsets and energy efficiency "White Tags". The purchase of Green-e certified wind energy displaces the generation of conventional electricity therefore reducing carbon emissions that would otherwise enter the atmosphere.

The new display was engineered, manufactured and installed by Young Electric Sign Company. During the replacement process, 90 percent of the metal materials and wiring from the previous sign faces were recycled. Sign elements that could not be recycled such as the neon fixtures were disposed of in accordance with EPA guidelines.


KFC Unveils First-Ever Hydrant And Extinguisher Sponsorship Program To Launch Its New Fiery Grilled Wings

To help cities pay for needed fire safety repairs and improvements during difficult economic times, KFC unveiled an advertising campaign to bring the brand's iconic logo to neighborhood fire hydrants and fire extinguishers in public buildings. Designed to launch KFC's new Fiery Grilled Wings, this first-of-its-kind advertising program supports the important issue of fire prevention and safety.

"With January being the peak month for residential fires, KFC wanted to raise awareness about this important issue and launch our new KFC Fiery Grilled Wings by supporting local fire departments nationwide," said Javier Benito, executive vice president of marketing and food innovation for KFC. "This unique marketing concept will help pay for new fire extinguishers and fire hydrants in cities in exchange for branding the equipment with Fiery Grilled Wings logos." In Brazil, Ind., 85 fire hydrants needed repairs the city couldn't afford due to budget constraints. To help, KFC repaired hydrants while also branding them with the KFC and Fiery Grilled Wings logos. Additionally, KFC issued an open offer to mayors nationwide, asking them to describe their need for fire extinguishers and hydrants in their community. Three other lucky cities will receive KFC's assistance.
