Washington Mutual Beanstalk Sign In Times Square Features Color Kinetics
Washington Mutual's new sign in Times Square depicts an 80-foot-tall beanstalk that glows emerald green from within thanks to Color Kinetics' LED illumination. Atop the three-dimensional beanstalk sits a castle and Jack himself, underscoring the ad's message: "Whatever your dream home is, we have your loan."
The design was conceptualized by Sedgwick Rd., Washington Mutual's Seattle-based ad agency, and brought to life by Clear Channel Spectacolor of New York. A 3D computer-generated model was used to engineer and fabricate the beanstalk - leaves, vine and all. Color Kinetics was called upon to intensify the sign's presence through intelligent LED illumination. More than 100 custom ColorBlast® 12 units with three channels of green LEDs are mounted behind the beanstalk's hand-painted, fiberglass exterior. The result is a shimmering, luminous surface that performs eye-catching chases in varying shades of vibrant green. The entire lighting scheme is controlled with a centralized DMX system.
Red Bull Flugtag Launches 2004 USA Tour
Red Bull Flugtag has launched the 2004 USA tour. Flugtag, which means "flying day" in German, was started over 13 years ago as a fledgling event in an Austrian Town. Today, Flugtag has been produced in over 20 countries.
This event is a contest in which voluntary participants construct human-powered flying machines that will be piloted, dragged, and pushed off a 24-foot ramp into a large body of water. It will take place in Miami, FL in April; Portland, OR in July; and Cleveland, OH in August.
'Club NOGGIN,' A New Interactive Educational Experience For Preschoolers Opens At Malls Nationwide
NOGGIN, the commercial-free, educational network for preschoolers, is teaming up with General Growth Properties (GGP) to launch Club NOGGIN, a new interactive educational experience for young children. Club NOGGIN will launch in April in five GGP test malls in select markets.
Club NOGGIN invites parents and caregivers to bring their young children (3-6 years) to the mall for a free, one-hour and 15-minute session where kids can play educational games and participate in large and small group activities supervised by trained activity leaders.

Coors Launches Aspen Edge Low-Carb Light Lager
Coors Brewing Company has introduced Aspen Edge, a super-premium, low-carb light lager. A nationwide expansion is planned by summer's end 2004 to on- and off-premise outlets.
It took extensive research and development, a special blend of malts and a completely unique brewing and fermenting process, for Coors Master Brewers Keith Villa and David Bright to create Aspen Edge.
"In qualitative research, guys told us if there was a low-carb beer that also tasted great, they'd try it," said Ron Askew, Coors Chief Marketing Officer.

The Warnaco Group, Inc. has named Robert G. Mazzoli Chief Creative Officer for Warnaco's Calvin Klein Underwear brand. In this role, Mazzoli will oversee all aspects of design, development, merchandising and marketing of the Calvin Klein Men's and Women's Underwear lines. He returns to Warnaco from Sara Lee Corporation, where he served as Chief Creative Officer of Sara Lee Branded Apparel.

Handleman Company announced the appointment of two Group Vice Presidents, Scott Wilson and Ron Lund. As Group Vice President, Scott Wilson is responsible for Marketing, Customer Support Teams, Field Sales and the Company's Canadian Division.
