Lizard Brands Introduces SoBe Healthy Refreshers

Capitalizing on the growing demand for healthy beverages, Lizard Brands, Norwalk, CT, is introducing SoBe Healthy Refreshers to the New Age beverage category.

Based on the success of its SoBe 3G Black Tea introduced last year, Lizard has expanded its 3G tea line to include 3G Green Tea plus Echinacea, a herb with blood purifying qualities that boosts the immune system; 3G Oolong Tea plus Bee Pollen, nature’s super energy food and 3G Red Tea plus Selenium, an important antioxidant and cancer fighter.

Lizard is also introducing a line of SoBe 3C Elixirs, healthful juice blends enhanced with important nutrient supplements: Calcium for skeletal strength, Chromium Picolinate to burn fat and increase lean muscle mass, and Carnitine, an amino acid that regulates metabolism and reduces cholesterol. The first SoBe 3C Elixirs to be marketed are Orange Carrot and Cranberry-Grapefruit. The company completes the line with Sobe Energy, a refreshing citrus blend that is energized with three nutrients: Guarana for instant energy; Yohimbe for power, strength and endurance; and Arginine, an amino acid that enhances potency and physical performance. SoBe Energy is the first entry in the SoBe PowerLine, Lizard’s new collection of nutrient enhanced performance drinks.


Rollerblade Introduces New Products & Technologies

Rollerblade, Inc. is bringing leading-edge technology and products to the in-line industry with the introduction of Energized Stride Technology (E.S.T.), Synergy Cross-Molded skates, the Quantum line of skates and the Nitroblade line.

Energized Stride Technology (E.S.T.) is a patented innovation made from an elastomeric material that works with a skater’s stride to increase power and speed while reducing fatigue. The new Cross-Molded Technology in the Synergy line of skates is a unique construction which blends a soft upper with a molded lower boot to provide comfort where it’s wanted and support where it’s needed. Synergy Cross-Molded skates are designed for fitness and recreational skaters who spend a lot of time in their skates and are looking for ultimate comfort and performance. The Quantum line features three models: Quantum L3, Quantum L2 and Quantum L and represents leading-edge technology in every aspect of in-line skating, according to the company. All three Quantum models incorporate the E.S.T. technology. Rollerblade’s new Nitroblade line of skates brings leading edge technology to skates for beginning and intermediate recreational skaters.


Playskool SunBlock Introduced

Nantucket Gold Suncare Products, Westport, CT, is teaming with Hasbro to introduce the Playskool line of high SPF (30 & 45) sunscreens for children called SunBlocks.

"We feel it is important that children wear sunscreen when playing outdoors, and the line of Playskool brand sunscreens from Nantucket Gold is a quality product that will provide children with protection from the sun," said Lloyd Mintz, Playskool division of Hasbro.

Playskool Sunblocks features SPF 30 and 45 products in 8-oz. bottles at between $8 and $9. Nantucket Gold Suncare products have promoted a platform of high SPF safety and an advanced 'bonding-based' delivery technology. The SunBlocks line is being sold in mass channels.


Prescriptives Introduces Pencil Place Tester Unit

Prescriptives has added five new products to its pencil category and is housing its expanded collection; colorfully repackaged so the outsides match the 'leads' in a new tester unit called Pencil Place. The open tester unit invites women to try out the pencils.

The line includes the '1-2-3 pencil' that works as a liner, shadow and brow color; Liquid Liner for Eyes; Matte Lip Crayon; Automatic Pencil For Eyes and Brow Groomer. Also on display are existing pencils, which have been repackaged with new shades including softlining pencils; eyecoloring pencil in soft white; eyecoloring and lipcoloring pencils and a brow shaping pencil.


The Body Shop Appoints P. Dawes V.P. of Promotions

Priscilla Dawes has been named Vice President of Promotions for The Body Shop, Inc., a newly created position. She will assume responsibility for promotions to maximize consumer appeal of The Body Shop’s products in its 288 U.S. stores.

Ms. Dawes most recently served as Global Director of Marketing, Polo Franchise for Ralph Lauren Fragrances/Cosmair, Inc.


National Car Rental Names B. Dimmick As Corporate V.P., Advertising & Marketing

National Car Rental, Minneapolis, MN, has named Bob Dimmick as the Corporate Vice President for Advertising and Marketing, according to an announcement by Bill Lobeck, President and CEO. Mr. Dimmick was previously Vice President, Marketing, Advertising & Sales Promotion with Thrifty Car Rental for the past ten years.
