In the spirit of Finland's Midnight Sun, Finlandia Vodka has launched a Midnight Brunch off-premise promotion.
The famous Midnight Sun is prominently featured on all promotional elements. The program's tear pad offers discounts on partner items including Simply Orange, Eggland's Best, Farmer John Smoke Bacon, Finest Call premium Bloody Mary mix and Korbel Champagne for the ultimate Mimosa. New Pepsi Edge Offers 50% Less Sugar, Carbs & Calories
Pepsi-Cola North America is launching Pepsi Edge, the first full-flavored cola with 50% less sugar, carbohydrates and calories than regular colas. Pepsi Edge delivers its full-flavored cola taste through a blend of Splenda and high fructose corn syrup. The national rollout begins late this summer supported by advertising, marketing and in-store activity.
"This product hits the sweet spot with a great balance of taste, diet needs and Pepsi persona," said Dave Burwick, SVP and Chief Marketing Officer.
Absolut Launches Danzka Vodka
The Absolut Spirits Company has launched Danzka Vodka, a smooth aromatic vodka with a distinct character of citrus fruit. Its proprietary metal bottle is made to chill vodka at optimal temperatures and literally keep vodka colder. Danzka will be supported with print advertising, on- and off-premise POS and events.
Miller Beer Introduces 'Fridge Pack' Nationwide
Miller Brewing Company is making its Miller Lite and Miller Genuine Draft available in new packaging designed to fit conveniently into home refrigerators. Miller is the first to bring the "Fridge Pack," a popular consumer package in other beverage segments, to the brewing industry. Miller Lite and Miller Genuine Draft fridge packs are available nationwide.
"This is the next milestone for Miller as a brewer and marketer," said Bob Mikulary, Exec. V.P. for Marketing. Cambridge SoundWorks And Harpoon Brewery Form Marketing Partnership
Audio manufacturer and retailer, Cambridge SoundWorks, and the Harpoon Brewery, New England's largest craft brewer, have entered into a joint marketing partnership, which includes sampling events, joint promotions and in-store merchandising programs.
The companies will launch their joint initiative with Harpoon Brewery's UFO Sightings promotion, designed to establish UFO Hefeweizen as the leading brand in the New England hefeweizen category. Consumers are invited to take a photo depicting a UFO Hefeweizen experience and post it on the UFO web site. Photos will be voted on and a winning photographer from each New England state will be presented with Cambridge SoundWorks' home theater systems.

Starz Names J. Maglio Exec. V.P., Mktg.
Jerry Maglio, a veteran cable industry marketing executive, was named Executive V.P. of Marketing for Starz Encore Group LLC. He will report to Robert Clasen, President of Sales and Marketing, and have responsibility for all consumer and affiliate marketing and research. Since 1991 he has headed Maglio & Associates, a Denver, CO-based consulting firm that has provided marketing advice to a wide range of clients in the media industry, including many of the top multi-channel providers.
