RadioShack And Symantec Form Software Alliance

RadioShack, the retail operating format of Tandy Corporation and Symantec Corporation, have formed an agreement to offer co-branded utilities software. RadioShack/Norton AntiVirus, RadioShack/Norton CrashGuard and RadioShack/Norton SystemWorks are being offered through the retail chain's more than 7,000 outlets nationwide.

"With a RadioShack store in nearly every neighborhood across America, this agreement gives an unprecedented number of computer users access to the world's most popular utilities software," said Rick Borinstein, Senior Vice President of Merchandising for RadioShack.


Woodchuck Draft Cider Introduces 'Oak Aged Colonial'

Green Mountain Cidery has introduced Woodchuck Colonial, its fourth distinctive cider variety, handcrafted in the Green Mountains of Vermont. Woodchuck Colonial, with 5% alcohol by volume, is being sold alongside the other Woodchuck varieties, Amber, Dark & Dry and Granny Smith Varietal. The introduction of Woodchuck Colonial will be supported at retail by point-of-sale including easel cards for in-store displays as well as new radio, outdoor and print advertising touting Woodchuck as "The World's Best Tasting Cider."


Logitech Names C. Bunton VP, Sales And Marketing

Logitech, Fremont, CA, has named Collette Bunton as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Americas region. Prior to joining Logitech, Bunton served as Senior Director of Retail and Catalog Sales for 3Com Corp.


Universal Pictures Marketing Appoints E. Egan Exec. VP

Universal Pictures Marketing has appointed Edward Egan to Executive Vice President. In his new role, Egan will be involved in all aspects of marketing of Universal's feature films. Egan joined Universal Pictures in 1994 from Sony Pictures Entertainment, where he served as Senior Vice President, Marketing for TriStar Pictures.


The Good Guys! Promotes C. Stauffer To VP Of Mktg.

The Good Guys, Inc., San Francisco, CA-based consumer electronic retailer, has promoted Cathy Stauffer to Vice President Quality and Marketing. Stauffer started with The Good Guys! in 1977 and became Vice President of Marketing in 1988. She rejoined the Company in 1977 after a 4-year absence and has most recently spearheaded the Quality movement at The Good Guys!


Shoe Carnival Names D. Kuhnlein Vice President, Marketing

Shoe Carnival, Inc., a leading retailer of value-priced footwear and accessories, Evansville, IN, has appointed David Kuhnlein to the newly created position of Vice President of Marketing. Kuhnlein will oversee all advertising, public relations and promotions for the Company. He was formerly a marketing executive for Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL.

CoolSavings And General Growth Launch Coupon Web Site For Shopping Malls

CoolSavings, a leader in targeted Internet coupons and marketing services, and General Growth Properties, Inc., a leading regional mall company, have formed an agreement to launch an Internet coupon Web site for savings from local and national merchants at 36 of General Growth's regional shopping malls throughout the country. The new site will allow shoppers to visit the CoolSavings Web site and download coupons to be redeemed for great savings from their favorite local mall retailers.

Through the CoolMalls program, participating mall retailers, department stores and national mall-based chain stores located in malls will have the opportunity to post offers on a customized CoolMalls Web page accessible through www.coolsavings.com. Shoppers gain access to targeted special offers and promotions from their local neighborhood mall retailers as well as from CoolSavings' extensive list of national retailers. General Growth's retailers will also be able to track which offers are most effective for shoppers and tailor future offers based on those results.
