Gerry Geddis, President and CEO, Blockbuster Entertainment Group, said: "We see this cooperative effort between two of America's leading retailers as an outstanding opportunity to offer our quick and convenient Blockbuster rental experience to a huge segment of American shoppers."
The Blockbuster Video "store within a store' will offer home video rental; video games and game hardware rentals; Coca-Cola products and confections.
The Blockbuster logo will be displayed on the outside of the Wal-Mart Supercenter and the store decor will look familiar to Blockbuster members.
The display also helps consumers visualize how a particular combination of the components might look as a complete door. By spinning three overlapping wheels, consumers can "build" a picture of their door and see it in a picture of a front entry of a home.
Six different exterior handles are mounted on the display, so shoppers can compare their look and feel. Consumers also can have their doors the same day, without the usual wait for custom or special orders.
"The Select program grew out of market research and in-store talks with consumers that indicated they wanted the option of choosing a different style of handle than came with the storm door they purchased," said Michael Gottsacker, Cole Sewell’s Director of Marketing. "With Select, consumers have total freedom not only to choose their handle but to choose one of seven glass styles as well."
"We feel that CELEBRATE transcends traditional fragrance appeals, and that it is a fragrance women would select for themselves first and wear for their own personal enjoyment," said Mary Manning, Coty’s Senior Vice-President of Market Development.
CELEBRATE is a transparent, modern citrusy floral with a long-lasting quality. The CELEBRATE collection includes a cologne spray, body lotion and body powder.
A $6 million ad campaign, extensive sampling and in-store merchandising materials will suppport the launch.
Merchandising Inventives’ products include shelf display systems, shelf sign holders, display hooks and mobile kits.
