Kodak Launches New 'Compact' Photo Kiosk

Eastman Kodak Company has introduced the Kodak Picture Kiosk GS Compact, a solution that provides retailers without a photoprinting category an easy to use, plug and play solution that can be up and running in minutes. Retailers looking for an entry-level solution to self-service picture printing will find the new Kodak GS Compact Picture Maker is perfect for low traffic situations.

"The new Kodak Picture Kiosk GS Compact provides retailers a compact category solution that delivers retailer profit out of the box in only minutes," said Nicki Zongrone, General Manager, Worldwide Kiosk Systems and Services and V.P., Consumer Digital Imaging Group.

Its compact countertop design is extremely space efficient and well-suited for smaller shops with demand for 30-70 prints per day. The GS Compact produces the same Kodak lab-quality prints as full-sized kiosks. The new Kodak GS Compact Picture Kiosk will be available worldwide beginning in September.


Mandee Stores Promotes Switchfoot's New Album Release, "Oh! Gravity"

The chart-topping, multi-platinum recording alternative rock group, Switchfoot, is celebrating the recent release of its 6th album "Oh! Gravity," with a nationwide in-store promotion at Mandee, the hip and trendy fashion shop for teens.

Launched by Retail Entertainment Design for Columbia Records and Mandee, the "Go Backstage with Switchfoot" promotion includes a grand prize trip with VIP tickets to meet Switchfoot and a shopping spree at Mandee stores. Mandee will carry "Oh! Gravity" in over 125 store locations, including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Illinois.


New Ogio Square Golf Bag Fixture Maximizes Space & Retailer Profits

Ogio, a leading golf bag manufacturer, has developed a new square point-of-purchase display that maximizes vertical space as well as retailer profits.

The 6'W x 4'D vertical golf bag fixture enables stores to display up to 24 bags where once only 8 bags fit. These new fixtures also promote sales of the Company's RAIL (Rapid Access Incline Lock) device on new cart bags, as well as the TORQ stabilizing strap. Each display is outfitted with special bars that mimic golf cars, enabling stores to demonstrate design components in use.

"With this new platform, we're able to offer our retail partners an 'Extreme Makeover' of their bag sales area by maximizing as much vertical space as we can, which we do by displaying the bags horizontally on a six-foot-tall fixture," said Harlan Gardiner, Ogio's Executive Vice President. Social Retailing Introduced At Bloomingdale's

Social Retailing, a new, interactive shopping approach, has debuted at Bloomingdale's 59th Street Flagship store in New York City. Designed by IconNicholson, a leading full service digital agency, for fashion designer Nanette Lepore, Social Retailing combines social networking and the brick-and-mortar store so customers can connect live with their online friends while they shop. An interactive mirror transmits high-bandwidth video to friends who comment back via instant message (IM) and who send their own suggestions from an online catalogue.

"Today's young tech-savvy shopper expects to be connected 24/7 with her friends even while she shops, " said Frank Doroff, Senior Executive VP and General Merchandise Manager at Bloomingdale's. "Social retailing enhances that ability to connect and I expect will draw new, younger shopper to our stores."

Mendis Coconut Brandy To Launch

Mendis International is planning to launch Mendis ultra-premium coconut brandy. Mendis Coconut Brandy is distilled from the essence of coconut flower in French pot stills and matured for a minimum of 2 years in Hamilla wood casks. "Mendis Coconut Brandy will give consumers exactly what they are looking for -100% natural flavor in a clear mixable form," said Chris Richardson, President and CEO of Mendis International. CVS/pharmacy has promoted Helena Foulkes to Senior Vice President of Marketing and Operations Services. Rockstar Games Names Moulle-Berteaux Head Of Mktg.

Rockstar Games, the publisher of Take-Two Interactive Software, has appointed Alex Moulle-Berteaux as Head of Marketing. Moulle-Berteaux comes to Rockstar Games from TBWA/Media Arts Lab in Los Angles, CA, where he led the development of worldwide marketing campaigns for Apple's Mac, iPod, iTunes and iPhone.


Hands-On Mobile Appoints D. Saitta V.P. Of Sales & Mktg.

Hands-On Mobile, a leading global publisher of mobile games, has appointed David Saitta as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Nissan has announced changes in the management team of its North American Sales and Marketing Department to better align the company in the rapidly changing automotive industry. Christain Meunier, currently Vice President, Sales Operations, Nissan Europe, will become Vice President, Model Line Marketing for Nissan North America. In this new role, Meunier will be responsible for Model Line management to ensure successful, profitable model portfolios for both Nissan and Infiniti. Jan Thompson, currently Vice President, Marketing for Nissan North America, will become Vice President, Marketing Communications for both the Nissan and Infiniti brands. SkyWest Names Thompson V.P., Market Dev.

SkyWest Airlines has named Michael Thompson Vice President-Market Development. Thompson recently served as the Chief Financial Officer at Ivy Logistics. From 2001 to 2005, Thompson was the Executive Operational Analyst for SkyWest.


Dolby Names Carey V.P., Worldwide Sales & Mktg.

Dolby Laboratories, a developer of Dolby high-quality audio and surround sound products, has named John Carey Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Marketing for the Company's Professional Division. Carey brings more than 25 years of experience to Dolby and has developed and managed worldwide sales, marketing, channel and direct-sales organizations for several companies in the electronics and entertainment fields.
