Snapple Conducting Massive Sampling Promotion
Quaker Oats is launching a major sampling program for Snapple Beverages. Snapple sampling brigades will visit high traffic locations, from beaches and parks to office buildings, in markets throughout the country.
An integrated marketing campaign will support the promotion, including TV and radio advertising, and special point of purchase merchandising materials. An 800 number consumers can call for coupons for a free Snapple 16-ounce bottle will also be promoted via Snapple’s distributor truck signage and the Snapple web site.
Don Uzzi, President of Quaker’s Beverage Division, said the program "represents the start of a new era of growth for the Snapple brand and will help energize the business."
Toshiba & Columbia Pictures Launch Joint Promotion
Toshiba America, Irvine CA, has launched a co-marketing campaign based on Columbia Pictures new comedy, "Multiplicity," in which the main character, (Michael Keaton) clones himself to take control of his life. Toshiba’s
"Art of Multiplicity" campaign shows how Toshiba copiers can make business executives more productive,
without having to clone themselves.
The campaign includes TV, radio and print advertising, plus point of purchase displays, designed to resemble those used to promote the movie "Multiplicity." Toshiba is also conducting a sweepstakes, offering a Grand Prize trip for two to Hollywood, to help draw consumers to Toshiba dealers.
Gojo Displays Demonstrate New Purell Hand Sanitizer
Gojo Industries, Akron, OH, has introduced Purell, the first alcohol based hand sanitizer for the consumer market. The product kills most common disease causing germs, and because it can be used without water or towels, it can be taken and used anywhere.
Gojo is promoting Purell with a special counter tester unit for pharmacy, cosmetic and check-out counters for self trial by consumers. It is also offering retailers a power wing and floor display.
Eagle River Interactive Merges With Graphic Media
Eagle River Interactive, Avon, CO, has announced its merger with Graphic Media of Portland, OR.
Terence Graunke, Eagle River, CEO, said the merger will add significant multimedia cababilities to help Eagle River provide interactive marketing solutions for informational and transactional interactive kiosks, CD-ROMs and World Wide Web sites.
Renaissance Cosmetics To Acquire Nat Robbins
Renaissance Cosmetics Inc., and Great American Cosmetics Inc., have announced that Renaissance has agreed to acquire the Nat Robbins brand of cosmetics from Great American. The Nat Robbins line includes lipsticks, eye makeup products, and nail polishes sold in drug stores, food stores and mass merchandisers.
Dr. Thomas Bonoma, Chairman and CEO of Renaissance, said, "We have planned for some time to increase our presence in the color cosmetics market. We are delighted to be allied with one of the rising stars in the mass distribution cosmetics market."
