Sony Style Concept Store Opens In Palo Alto, California

Sony Electronics recently opened the Sony Style concept store at the Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto, California. The new concept stores invite consumers to "test drive" a variety of Sony devices, while offering the highest level of personal service.

"Consumers will experience our products, technology and entertainment first hand in a high-class, consumer-centric environment," said Mike Fasulo, President of Sony Electronics' eSolutions Company. "To continue to enhance our brand, we will open additional concept stores across the country over the next year."

At about 6,000 square feet, the Palo Alto Sony Style store features multiple demonstration areas, including a digital imaging gallery with a complete range of digital still cameras, camcorders and photo printers. The store also showcases all of Sony's entertainment properties, including the latest PlayStation 2 hardware and games, as well as DVD movies from Sony Pictures and the latest CDs from Sony Music. The Palo Alto store is the first to feature an entertainment zone with different themes throughout the year. The store also offers Wi-Fi wireless Internet access, online product information at the touch of a button through SonyStyle.com, custom installation support and personalized in-home delivery.

"Our stores allow shoppers to imagine how the products will fit into their lives," said Fasulo. The Palo Alto store is the fifth Sony Style concept store situated in a suburban location. Sony also has two flagship stores in urban centers in New York and San Francisco.


New Coca-Cola Billboard Unveiled In Times Square

The Coca-Cola Company has unveiled a new three-dimensional, high tech billboard in New York City's Times Square featuring custom-created, digital imagery and 32 convex and concave, high-definition LED screens.

The new sign will also feature The Time Machine, a three-minute audio and video tribute showing the New York City landscape and Coca-Cola images over the past 80 years, marking the first time the Times Square sign will display content about New York. "The new Coca-Cola display represents the intersection of cutting-edge technology, advertising innovation and entertaining content," said Javier Benito, Chief Marketing Officer, Coca-Cola NA. "Given the location of this sign at the world's most famous crossroads, the new display provides an experience and projects an image that is globally relevant."

Developed by more than 40 engineers and designers, the sign features some of the most advanced screen and digital technologies available including GPS (Global Positioning Systems) to remotely manage the controls, 2.6 million LEDs to illuminate the image and 57 bits of processing to power the speed for the animation, creating an unprecedented digital experience. The design and shape of the 32 sculpted LED screens enable the sign to have a 60-degree vertical, and an even more unique 140-degree horizontal viewing angle.


Melitta Conducts one:one Outdoor Loft Tour

Melitta Coffee Company recently launched the one:one Outdoor Loft Tour, demonstrating that the latest product from Salton, Inc. can recreate the coffee house experience at home.

Visitors to the Outdoor Loft sampled the coffee and learned all about the fresh, fast and flexible options of the one:one. The Melitta one:one Loft was designed to resemble the modern and hip living space of a young and savvy consumer. The Melitta one:one Loft beckoned passersby to try a uniquely customized cup of hot or iced coffee or tea.


Sanfaustino Calium Water Introduced In U.S.

New Sanfaustino is a lightly effervescent mineral water with calcium. Sanfaustino comes from a natural mountain spring in Italy. The spring generates a natural mineral water that is a uniquely good source of calcium. In addition to calcium, Sanfasutino also provides natural bicarbonate for easy digestion. While Sanfaustino has been sold in Italy since 1894, it is now available in the U.S. for the very first time, imported by CCW Holdings, Inc.


Home Director Names K. Grossman V.P. Of Strategic Market Dev.

Home Director, Inc. has named Kevin Grossman V.P. of Strategic Market Development. In this newly created position, Grossman will be responsible for managing key industry relationships with builders and developers in support of Home Director's marketing plan. For the past five years, he directed the technology master planning for Arvida, a St. Joe Company and the largest land owner in Florida.


Mrs. Fields Famous Brands Names J. Lauck Exec. V.P. of Mktg.

Mrs. Fields Famous Brands has appointed John Lauck as Executive V.P. of Marketing. Lauck joins Mrs. Fields from Arby's Franchise Association where he was President and Chief Marketing Officer. His previous marketing experience also includes General Mills, Groceryworks.com, Footstar/Footaction, Blockbuster Entertainment and Pizza Hut/PepsiCo.


Prudential Financial Appoints M. Hug Pres. & Chief Mktg. Officer

Prudential Financial, Inc. has appointed Mark Hug as V.P. and Chief Marketing Officer for the Company's individual life insurance area. Prior to this, Hug was Chief Marketing Officer of Allmerica Financial Services, and later President of that Company. Before joining Allmerica, Hug was Sr. V.P. of Individual Markets for Equitable and prior to that, he was V.P. and head of sales for Aetna.


Insprucker Is New V.P. Of Mktg. At Schneider Electric, NA

Tom Insprucker has been named V.P. of Marketing for the Schneider Electric North American Operating Division, one of four geographic divisions of the Paris-based Company. A 19-year veteran of the Palatine, IL-based North American Operating Division, Insprucker most recently served as Director of the Industrial Applications Team. In his new position, he'll be responsible for developing and driving business segment marketing strategy in support of sales of the brands of Schneider Electric in North America.


Creative Banner Introduces Quick-Change Retractor

CCM, a manufacturer of cellular telephone accessories, wanted its 20' x 30' exhibit to show its product in a futuristic store like environment. It also wanted to use the exhibit's upper level for brand exposure so the façade was covered in lightweight semi-transparent printed graphics. The use of the orange backlit Plexiglas along the edges of the monoliths really made the exhibit pop. The exhibit was produced for CCM by Olea Exhibits/Displays Inc., located in Artesia, CA.


S2K Graphics Moves Into New Production Facility

S2K Graphics has moved into a new 30,000 square foot production facility located at 9255 Deering Avenue in Chatsworth, CA. The move allows S2K Graphics to consolidate administrative, sales and operations functions under one roof and also provides space for additional screen printing equipment and future growth. After 15 years of doing business as Signs 2000, the Company recently changed its name to S2K Graphics. The new S2K Graphics facility provides clients such as McDonald's, Coke and Kinko's with turnkey support in the development and execution of merchandising and promotional programs. Although S2K Graphic's core product offering-signs, banners, point-of-purchase and merchandising materials-is consistent with its original offering in 1989, the Company has added numerous in-house production technologies, such as semi-automated 4-color process screen printing and large format photo-laser printing.
