POPAI Presents Chief Award To Miller Brewing Co.

The Point-of-Purchase Advertising Institute, (POPAI), Washington, D.C., presented its 1996 Chief Award, the highest honor bestowed by POPAI, to Miller Brewing Company at the industry’s recent Marketplace trade show.

John N. "Jack" MacDonough, Chairman of the Miller Brewing Company, in accepting the award, said, "It could well be argued that point-of-purchase is the most important medium we use. If you make effective use of point-of-purchase, you can remind the consumer of all the media that has gone before--the television commercials, the print ads, and all the other elements of the marketing mix."

POPAI Recognizes Accreditation Graduates

The Point-of-Purchase Advertising Institute, (POPAI), announced the 1996 graduates of its P.O.P. Professional accreditation program. At Marketplace ‘96, it bestowed P.O.P. Coca-Cola Conducts NFL Red Zone Promotion

Coca-Cola is conducting "The Coca-Cola NFL Red Zone" promotion, offering fans the ultimate NFL prize: Super Bowl tickets for life. The grand prize, a lifetime of all-expense paid trips to the Super Bowl, will be awarded from thousands of finalists who successfully match their Coca-Cola NFL Red Zone number, found under the red cap or red tab on specially marked Coca-Cola classic bottles and cans, with the total points scored from the Red Zone (the area between the goal line and the 20 yard line) during select ABC Monday Night Football games this Fall.

Six first prize winners will receive trips for two to Super Bowl XXXI1 in New Orleans. Other prizes include 6,000 NFL team Starter jackets and coupons redeemable for free Coca-Cola classic 12 packs.

The promotion is supported by media and point-of-purchase advertising.

New Inland Identity Reflects Packaging & Display Services

Inland Container Corp., Indianapolis, IN, (http://www.iccnet.com) has changed its legal name to Inland Paperboard and Packaging, Inc. Inland’s new name reflects our growing line of product offerings, which covers a full range of products from brown boxes, to the most advanced designs in specialty packaging, said William B. Howes, Inland’s Chairman and CEO.

Inland has invested over $100 million aimed at enhancing its services. A reorganization of the company’s Specialty Graphics Group, its recent acquisitions of Rand-Whitney Packaging and CB Displays and a world-class Graphics Resource Center are some of the components of the program.

The Specialty Graphics Group has been reorganized into five regional merchandising offices. The offices of the new Merchandising Group are located in Los Angeles, CA, Chicago, IL, Indianapolis, IN, Hackensack, NJ and Atlanta, GA. An additional office, located in Dallas, TX is in the planning stages. F.O. Phoenix Inc. has announced a "100 % Placement Guarantee." When a client contracts with F.O. Phoenix to design, build and place its in-store displays. F.O. Phoenix will guarantee those displays will be placed and erected in 100% of the targeted stores.
