Sears Launching Circle of Beauty
Sears is launching Circle of Beauty, a complete store-within-a-store beauty
environment, featuring Sears' "Colorworks" makeup, "Skinplicity"
skincare,"Living Pleasures" bath, body and home accessories, "Scent I.D."
fragrance products.
All products are testable in-store. A woman can feel free
to explore on her own as much as she likes without feeling pressured to buy.
The Circle of Beauty Information Center will offer extensive information, and
free advice, offering answers to common consumer questions.
USA Basketball & Texaco Run Fall Promo
Texaco and USA Basket-ball will distribute thousands of Dream Team baskeballs
to consumers in a Fall promotion.
This is the first of two promotions that will
be offered in more than 8,000 participating Texaco retail outlets as part of
Texaco's sponsorship of USA Basket-ball's Dream Team.Point-of-sale materials
at Texaco outlets will support this promotion.
The Dream Team, which will
compete in the Olympic Games in Atlanta next summer, is comprised of top NBA
players. NBA Properties, New York City, is the exclusive marketing
representative for USA Basketball.
Display Technologies Appoints C. Neustadt Sales Manager For Beverage Division
To expand its marketing efforts in the beverage and bottling markets, Display
Technologies, Whitestone, NY, has named Craig Neustadt as its new National
Sales Manager for the Beverage Division. The announcement was made by Deborah
Osgood, President. Mr. Neustadt previously was Division Manager for Dr.
Pepper/7-Up Company.
McCann-Erickson Opens New Promotion Division
McCann-Erickson North America, New York City, has formed Momentum IMC, a new event, promotion
and sponsorship division with billings of $40 million. Momentum IMC, co-headed
by Managing Director L. Anthony Pace and Creative Director Mark Driscoll, will
consist of three operating units: Ideas & Promotions, Programs & Properties and
Local Presence Marketing.
Momentum IMC's clients include Anheuser Busch, AT&T, Black & Decker, Coca-Cola,
General Motors and Sega.
Heineken USA Names S. Davis As New Marketing Chief
Heineken USA, Inc., White Plains, NY, has announced the appointment of Stephen
Davis as Vice President of Marketing. Mr. Davis will oversee the domestic
marketing of all of the company's brands.
Prior to joining Heineken, Mr. Davis spent 11 years with Pepsico, Inc.
HMG Acquires Display Assembly Operation Of Benson Eyecare
HMG Worldwide Corp., New York City, announced that it has entered into
transactions with Benson Eyecare Corp., to acquire the display assembly
operations of Benson Eyecare's Foster Grant Group Subsidiary. The subsidiary
that HMG will acquire manufactures and assembles a large portion of the
in-store merchandising displays utilized by Foster Grant Group.
In connection with this transaction, Foster Grant has entered into a seven year agreement
with HMG to purchase a minimum of $4.5 million per year of merchandising
displays from HMG Worldwide.
Benson Eyecare's display assembly business is
located in Reading, PA, where it owns and operates a multi-story, 125,000 sq.
ft. facility.
