Lipton To Launch Take Control Product Line
Lipton plans to launch a new product line, under the brand name Take Control, which will be made with a natural soybean extract, also called plant sterols, that may help maintain healthy cholesterol levels.
The first Take Control product will taste like a full-flavored margarine or spread; it will be low in saturated fat; free of trans fatty acids, and contain 6 grams of fat per serving. The product, planned to be available in the U.S. in February 1999, will be the Company's first entry into the $8 billion functional foods category. Lipton, the maker of Promise, is an operating unit of Unilever, the world's leading manufacturer of margarines and spreads.
Skillet Sensations By Stouffer's Introduced
Nestle USA Food Group, Inc., is introducing Stouffer's and Stouffer's Lean Cuisine Skillet Sensations, a new line of all-in-one frozen meals designed for skillet preparation. The line features 14 varieties with ingredient and flavor combinations reminiscent of homestyle cooking including chicken, beef or turkey and a hearty serving of vegetables for two 12- or 12.5-oz. portions.
Meals such as Chicken Alfredo and Roasted Beef & Potatoes give consumers the chance to eat dinners that would be difficult or time-consuming to prepare from scratch. Unlike meal starters or kits, Skillet Sensations is one-step skillet preparation that takes just 15 minutes to complete.
For consumers seeking meals on the lighter side, Stouffer's Lean Cuisine Skillet Sensations delivers exceptional taste at lower fat and calorie levels.
ARCO Names C. Noble Snr. VP of Retail Mktg.
ARCO Products Company has named Chris Noble Senior Vice President of Retail Marketing. He most recently served as Vice President of Finance, Planning and Control for ARCO Products. Noble has been with ARCO since 1990, when he joined ARCO British, Ltd., where he held commercial and financial positions before transferring to the Los Angeles corporate headquarters. Prior to coming to ARCO, Noble spent more than 12 years with Exxon UK.
Graphicsource Acquires Wace USA's Screen Print Div.
Graphicsource, Inc., Hartland, WI, has announced the acquisition of Wace USA's Screen Print Division based in Memphis, TN. Wace Memphis, formerly known as Ad South, has been producing point of sale signage to the mid-South region for over 40 years. For more than eight years, Graphicsource, Inc. has been marketing point of sale signage to national accounts.
Retail Planning Appoints New Marketing Execs.
Retail Planning Associates (RPA), the Columbus, OH-based retail strategy, design and implementation firm, has named Kenneth Martell Vice President of Retail Strategy, Janet Groeber Director of Communication and New Business Development and Chris Kiminas Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Trellis Division.
Martell will direct RPA's staff of retail strategists in the application of the latest consumer behavior research methodologies. Martell comes to RPA from The Taubman Company, where he was Director of Asset Management Research.
As Director of Communication, Groeber will superintend RPA's professional associations with organizations such as PAVE (The Planning and Visual Education Partnership), the National Retail Federation and the Corporate Design Foundation. Groeber comes to RPA from VM+SD magazine.
Chris Kiminas has joined RPA as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Trellis, RPA's proprietary retail software. Kiminas will be responsible for developing a sales and marketing plan tailored to RPA's clientele. He was most recently Regional Vice President of Sales for The Ultimate Software Group in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Factura Kiosks Moves To Larger Facility
Factura Kiosks has moved its headquarters to a larger location
in Rochester, NY. The new facility, approximately 100,000 square feet in size, is home to all Factura operations. "The move was necessary to meet current production demands as well as facilitate future growth," said Greg Swistak, President and Founder of Factura, a premier supplier of interactive kiosk enclosures.
Miller Mfg. Acquires Multiplex Display Co.
Miller Manufacturing, a Richmond, VA-based $30 million display firm, announced that it has acquired Multiplex Display Fixture Co., an $18 million display firm, based in St. Louis, MO. The Miller-Multiplex combination will have a combined capacity of 650,000 sq. ft. in two locations.
"Combining the two companies’ manufacturing, design and marketing strengths brings significantly greater benefits to our respective customers than we could individually provide," said David Reynolds, President of Miller Manufacturing.
