'Fresh Food Kiosks' Bring Name Brand Gourmet Treats To Vending
Canteen Vending Services, Charlotte, NC, has introduced gourmet treats from The Cheesecake Factory and Sagebrush Steakhouse to its new "Fresh Food Kiosks," adding to its extensive menu of famous national restaurant names such as Blimpies, Nathans, and Hardees. "Now we can comprehensively respond to the consumer drive for trusted name brands and quality foods in vending with selections that appeal to all tastes, appetites and occasions," said Mike Kiser, V.P., Merchandising, Canteen Vending Services.
All products will be introduced throughout 1999, coinciding with the rollout of Market Central, a state-of-the-art, fresh food delivery system set to change the face of the traditional vending machine.
The First Jose Cuervo Tequileria Opens
The Jose Cuervo Tequileria, a Mexican theme restaurant and bar featuring an extensive variety of premium Cuervo tequilas and authentic Mexican cuisine, recently debuted at Detroit’s Metropolitan Airport.
"We are excited to have worked with Jose Cuervo on the world’s first Jose Cuervo Tequileria," said Stan Novack, V.P., Concept Development for Host Marriott Services.
"The Jose Cuervo Tequileria concept has been developed for airport locations," said Alejandro Cantu, International Division Director for Jose Cuervo, "since our other markets are already well served by our many bar and restaurant customers."
Domino’s Pizza And Blockbuster 'Promote ‘Hot Pizza. Hot Movies'
Domino’s Pizza and Blockbuster are teaming up to bring customers a "Hot Pizza. Hot Movies. Cool Deal" promotion.
Customers who rent any movie or video game at participating Blockbuster stores receive a coupon for a free Domino’s one-topping medium pizza with the purchase of a large pizza. Domino’s customers who purchase any pizza will receive a box-top coupon that is good for a free rental of any movie at participating Blockbuster stores with the rental of another.

Sony And Pizza Hut Team For Promotion
Sony Computer Entertainment America and Pizza Hut recently teamed up for The "Pizza-Powered PlayStation Giveaway." The promotion offered thousands of consumers purchasing Pizza Hut Stuffed Crust Pizza the opportunity to win a grand prize cash jackpot of $200,000 and a wide assortment of PlayStation prizes, including 100 PlayStation game consoles with the new Crash Bandicoot: WARPED videogame; and 2,000 copies of PlayStation’s most popular games. As part of the promotion, consumers were able to sample PlayStation-titles when they received one of the 3.5 million PlayStation demo discs available through Pizza Hut.
In support of the promotion, point-of-purchase displays were featured at more than 7,200 Pizza Hut restaurants.
