‘McDonald’s With Diner Inside’ Debuts
McDonald’s has unveiled a test concept, McDonald’s with the Diner Inside, featuring two restaurant experiences under one roof.
Located in Kokomo, Indiana, McDonald’s with the Diner Inside will offer the traditional McDonald’s experience with the same fun, fast-paced service McDonald’s customers appreciate. Additionally, customers at the test restaurant will now have the option of dining at their own pace while enjoying table service and great Classic American diner favorites or McDonald’s traditional menu items.
“McDonald’s with the Diner Inside is a test that fits into our overall strategy to capture more meal occasions,” said Alan Feldman, U.S. President, McDonald’s. “We’re always looking for new opportunities. McDonald’s with the Diner Inside offers us a chance to assess our customers’ reaction to a new McDonald’s experience.”
Starbucks Offers Complimentary Coffee Grounds For Composting
To help get gardens off to a healthy start this year, Starbucks Coffee Co. has offered customers complimentary spent coffee grounds for their garden.
“Coffee grounds can be a valuable source of nutrition for the garden,” said Ben Packard, Environmental Affairs Manager for Starbucks. “At Starbucks, we strive to find innovative and creative ways to positively contribute to a healthier environment. Reusing coffee grounds in the garden is a great way to avoid disposing of this rich resource from our stores.”
Grounds are packaged in reused coffee bags and sealed with the Starbucks Coffee Grounds Compost sticker.
Burger King Runs ‘Choose The Ooze’ Promotion
Burger King has conducted a kids campaign centered around fun food that’s green. “Choose The Ooze” offers the popular Heinz EZ Squirt Blastin’ Green; Gooey Green Apple Ooze, an apple-flavored dipping sauce for Chicken Tenders; Frozen Green Minute Maid Cherry treats. The novelty is designed to drive traffic and trial of Big Kids Meals and Kids Meals.
The “Choose the Ooze” promotion is supported with in-restaurant merchandising that asks kids, “Who’s been in the ooze?”
Hard Rock Cafe & Lipton Launch ‘Cool Music Meal Deal’
Hard Rock Cafe has partnered with Lipton Brisk Iced Tea to bring guests a “Cool Music Meal Deal.” Visitors at all U.S. Hard Rock Cafe’s are eligible to receive a free collector’s pin simply by ordering a Lipton Brisk Raspberry Iced Tea, an entree and dessert.
There are four “claymation artist pins” modeled after the celebrities who appear in the Brisk commercial “Jailhouse Rock,” including Elvis, James Brown, Willie Nelson and Coolio. This is the first time Hard Rock has featured an artist likeness on a collectible pin.
Ronald McDonald Merchandiser. This in-store display for monthly Happy Meal promotions was the global introduction of the New Ronald McDonald Icon in permanent display format, featuring Motion Video. Chick-Fill-A Dancing Cow Inflatables
Chick-Fill-A featured two 30-foot Dancing Cow Inflatables, each on two fans, with sandwich board banners that read “Eat Mor chikin” at their brand and product promotions. The promotion added an eye-catching, high-visibility element at the Chick-Fill-A sponsored Peach Bowl (Atlanta, GA) and subsequently at the grand openings of new chain stores.
