WCW Nitro Grill Opens
The first World Championship Wrestling Nitro Grill recently opened in Las Vegas. "The Nitro Grill is going to be a can’t miss destination for wrestling fans," said Eric Bischoff, President of WCW. "The concept is defined as a Sports Dining and Entertainment Complex."
The restaurant features WCW decor and memorabilia, while offering live and recorded WCW wrestling events shown on big screens throughout the eatery. A full line of Nitro Grill and WCW merchandise is available in the gift shop. The WCW Nitro Grill was developed by Sitka Restaurant Group, under an agreement with WCW, a subsidiary of Turner Broadcasting System. Plans call for Sitka to develop more Nitro Grill restaurants in the U.S. and internationally.

Entertainment Systems Technology (EST) has introduced FunPad, an entertaining hand-held device that lets restaurant diners play games, select food and beverages and browse rich media content while waiting for their meals. This combination of high impact entertainment and marketing messages directed to diners creates a cost-effective medium.
Entertainment Systems Technology is deploying complete systems in California restaurants this summer including TGIFriday’s, Planet Hollywood, and National Sports Bar.
FunPad displays rich media advertising messages, ranging from full-motion video to multi-user games, all of which are accessible using Web-styled interfaces. Twin audio speakers, microphone, CCD camera and thermal printer allow customers to see, hear and print pictures. An iButton input device accepts personalization data from customers. FunPad can also be used to purchase tickets and vended merchandise at nearby entertainment and sports venues.
