Sunkist Pistachios Runs ‘Fuel Up & Win’ Display Contest

Paramount Farms is conducting the Sunkist Pistachios “Fuel Up and Win” display contest.

“Racing season is the ideal time to boost in-store pistachio sales with high impact, creative retail displays,” said Dominic Engels, V.P., Marketing, Paramount Farms. “That’s because we know pistachios, a strong impulse purchase item, have widespread family appeal and index higher than any other nut within this demographic. Plus, retailers report that when displays are utilized, and with good merchandising, a sales lift of 300 to 400 percent can be expected.” The creator of the winning display will receive a grand prize trip for two to the 2008 Pepsi 400 at Daytona® scheduled for July 5th.



Nike & Footlocker To Launch New Basketball Retail Experience

NIKE and Foot Locker expect to open up to 50 “House of Hoops by Foot Locker” stores in the U.S. over the next three years, creating a new retail experience celebrating basketball culture for consumers. House of Hoops will be a “hub for all things basketball,” offering exclusively Nike, Jordan and Converse basketball footwear, apparel and equipment product. The first House of Hoops store will open in early 2008 on 125th Street in Harlem, New York.

“House of Hoops will give consumers a unique retail experience not seen in the market today, offering a selection of the game’s most premium athletic footwear, apparel and equipment brands,” said Charles Denson, President of the Nike brand. “House of Hoops reflects our growth strategy-focus on the consumer, create the marketplace, and deliver elevated brand experiences.”

House of Hoops extends an existing store-within-a-store concept featuring Nike basketball product at Foot Lockers nationwide.



Polar Debuts Activity Watch

Polar has launched its newest Activity Watch, which tracks the quality and quantity of daily activity. The Activity Watch measures movement and caloric consumption based on personalized settings to motivate and guide people to get the most from their daily activities. The new watch features a custom calorie counter, a timed active step sensor that gauges five levels of activity ranging from slow walking to jogging and running.

The Mizuno Apparel Display is a modular unit with shelves for folded sweaters and a hang bar for warm ups displayed on hangers. The sign frame allows for changing product information signs. The display is constructed from wood, metal and tubing. The wood shelves, wood base, and metal parts have a powder finish. The display features adjustable shelves and the Mizuno logo which is laser cut into both sides of the metal column and backed with white styrene. The Mizuno logo is cut into the wood base. The laser cut logo in the metal plate on the header is backed with blue and mounted to MDF.

Edge Display Group created this Sobe Pure Rush Floor-stand. This unit was awarded as one of the best displays at the last PEPSI "Modern Trade Show" in Purchase, New York. This display has a 20" footprint, 84" height and a 20" depth giving it the capability to hold 108 - 8.03oz cans and 16 - 4 packs. A 4 color process printing die cut skateboarder rides along a black curved metal rail. Each shelf is made as a skateboard consisting of black wire and a styrene gravity feed. All 4 shelves attach to the rear frame.
