Kiosk Enhances The Wine Shopping Experience

Curiosk Marketing Solutions, (www.curiosk.com) has introduced a touch-screen wine information kiosk that displays product information on screen after a simple scan of a wine bottle’s bar code. The kiosk then allows customers to create a personalized greeting card designed to fit over the neck of the bottle. The personal greeting along with selected wine information prints on a gift card at the kiosk in seconds.

David Weinberg, President of Curiosk, said “By using our kiosks, customers will learn about their wine selection and be able to take the information home to share with others. Pokemon Opens Feature Shops At Toys “R” Us Stores

Toys "R" Us stores nationwide will now offer customers the largest selection of Pokémon® products available in dedicated Pokémon® boutiques. The boutiques will offer an extensive collection of Pokémon merchandise including video games, the new Pokémon Trading Figure Game, Sinnoh Pokémon action figures plush, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, t-shirts and more. “Pokémon boutiques at Toys "R" Us offer us a great opportunity to connect with our existing fans and those new to the brand,” said Caryl Liebmann, Director of Retail Development and Promotions for Pokémon USA. “There has been tremendous momentum with Pokémon this year fueled by the release of Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl and we’re thrilled to be able to offer so many coveted items at Toys "R" Us stores across the country.”

Guests visiting any of the Toys "R" Us boutiques will find a large selection of Pokémon merchandise including board games, puzzles, apparel, Halloween costumes, key chains, DVDs, books and more. Among the highlighted products featured at the shops are the all-new Sinnoh Pokémon action figures from master toy licensee JAKKS Pacific as well as the Mysterious Treasures expansion set for the Pokémon Trading Card Game. The game features the never-before-caught Sinnoh Pokémon and new game play options.

Kids can also find the hottest Pokémon video games of the year at Toys "R" Us stores. With more than three million copies sold in the United States alone, Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl, launched by Nintendo for the DS this past spring, were ranked the #1 and #3 best-selling video games for the first half of 2007 by the NPD Group.

To date, Nintendo’s Pokémon franchise has sold more than 164 million games worldwide.



LG Electronics Displays LCD Panels

LG Electronics Canada Ltd., is using this display to merchandise large LCD panels along with a limited edition “Blue Ray” DVD.

The display is constructed of metal, with a styrene graphic panel and acrylic brochure holder. Chain link is used for security of DVD. The units were produced for Future Shop retail locations across Canada. This display was created for LG Electronics by Get Global Sales Inc., Vaughn, Ontario, in association with DNS Industries Inc., Concord, Ontario.



Oxford Unity Press Displays New Dictionary

The Oxford University Press is using this wire and metal display to merchandise its Oxford English Dictionary.

The display is designed to support a great weight of product, and to attract attention while utilizing a minimum of floor space.

The display header proclaims, “The World’s Best Unabridged Dictionary.”

The display holds an actual Oxford English Dictionary at eye-level, permitting consumers to conveniently browse through a sample dictionary.

This sturdy, permanent display was created for The Oxford University Press by St. Elizabeth Street Display Group, (www.stelizdisp.com), a Little Falls, New Jersey-based point-of-purchase display firm.



American Map Develops Merchandiser For Staples

Staples Office Supply Stores is using this display to merchandise pocket maps and road atlases published by American Map, a division of Langenscheidt Publishing Group.

The display measures 58” h x 17” d x 38” w and is constructed of steel tubing, wire, sheet metal and plastic with a powder coated finish. Fabrication includes welding, (spot and mig), formed tubing, powder coated finish and silk screened graphics. The display features an interchangeable rolled map attachment with graphics.

This display was created by New Business Solutions, Inc., (www.nbsdisplays.com), a Hicksville, NY-based p.o.p. display firm.



Thule Develops Interactive Kiosk

Thule Inc., the Swedish car rack manufacturer, has developed the TIPP (Thule Interactive Point-of-Purchase), a touch-screen kiosk, that empowers consumers to quickly match the appropriate Thule rack to their vehicle and gear carrying needs.

Thule’s VP Marketing, TJ Hanson, said, “TIPP increases consumer satisfaction by providing a fast, easy-to-use interactive experience. TIPP also provides unique insight into the products our customers are interested in.”

Thule chose Self-Service Networks, a Portsmouth, RI-based provider of turnkey kiosk solutions to develop the kiosk.

Along with rack-vehicle matching tools, the TIPP system features product information and video demonstrations. After selecting a rack system, the selected components can be printed as a shopping list.

TIPP also gathers usage statistics which can improve other aspects of the Thule shopping experience.



Leggett & Platt Features Wire/Metal Rack

This display features epoxy coated wire and round tubing. The KD display contains adjustable shelving and an account or product specific graphics kit.

The display is being used by Leggett & Platt’s Top of Bed Group as a merchandising vehicle for its Southern Textiles line of pillow and mattress covers/protectors and linen sets. The permanent display has been distributed to furniture and bedding products retailers around the nation.

This display was created by Leggett & Platt’s - Talbot Division, a division based in Neosho, MO, that designs and produces permanent point-of-purchase displays.



7Up Displays New HoldiayFlavor

For the holiday season, Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages (CSAB) has introduces new Pomegranate 7UP, a blend of natural Pomegranate flavor with 7UP.

“With its natural Pomegranate flavor and deep burgundy color, Pomegranate 7UP is a festive addition to the holiday season,” said Matt Smith, 7UP brand director for Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages. “Pomegranate is one of the fastest growing flavors in beverages today, and Pomegranate 7UP makes a perfect primer for any holiday party.”

Special pole sign images have been developed to support Pomegranate 7UP in-store. There are special standalone 7UP Pomegranate pallet displays, and Pomegranate 7Up has been added to 7UPs multi-product display racks, which feature a festive holiday image.



Financial Service Centers Launches Kiosks At 7-11’s

Financial Services Centers Cooperative, (FSCC), has introduced check depositing kiosks at 2,000 7-Eleven stores. The kiosks, known as Vcom™ terminals, allow members to conduct virtually any transaction they would otherwise conduct in their own credit union.

“The combination of FSCC’s technology and the Vcom distribution channel will revolutionize how consumers perform financial transactions,” said Sarah Canepa Bang, CEO, FSCC.



Palm Bay Imports “Petitie Bistro” Display

Palm Bay Imports wanted to capture the flavor of an outdoor French bistro café.

This metal display successfully conveys this image with a 3D scalloped metal awning and incorporated metal floral rings on each side to hold flower pots.

The black wire and metal display complements the black bottles of the Petite Bistro wines.

In addition to instantly conveying the French heritage of the “Petite Bistro” wines, this display is space efficient. It holds 48 bottles in a minimum of floor space. The angled presentation of the wine bottles makes the easy-to-shop display stand out in the store.

Coca-Cola Oasis Opened At Amusement Parks

The ‘Coca-Cola’Oasis’ has opened at several amusement parks in the U.S. and Canada. Each needed a structural roofed station to house a bay of soft drink machines. The structures needed to be fun, aesthetically compelling, and structurally sound.

The contractor, Animus Design & Build, utilized the Milos Truss system from Milos Structural Systems, Ashland, VA, (www.milosamerica.com). The structures were designed to be erected by a crew of six people in 1 day.



Ukrop’s Launches New Coupon Dispenser

Ukrop’s Super Markets have introduced Savings Spot, a 1-to-1 shopper program delivering personalized offers and messages to shoppers at the start of their shopping trips. Shoppers scan their Ukrop's Valued Customer Card at the Savings Spot dispenser located near the store entrance and within seconds, receive a sheet of up to eight offers and messages selected just for them based on their shopping history. This program allows Ukrop's and its vendors to give unadvertised personalized offers to the chain's most valuable customers.

Ukrop’s was the first retailer to pilot this system with its creator, Entry Point Communications, Hartford, CT. (EPC).

Scott Aronson, V.P., Marketing at Ukrop’s, said, “The Savings Spot is a unique competitive advantage for Ukrop's and our key vendors to speak directly to our customers at the start of their shopping trips.”



Wire Low Rise Bunker Rack

This low rise wire display is being used by Krogers' Supermarkets for cross merchandising. It sits in front of the deli counter or in the produce department and may be placed in front of the meat case or refrigerated food cases to cross merchandise various food products with the wine the display holds. The Wire Low Rise Bunker Rack was created by Flair Display, Inc., 3920 Merritt Avenue, Bronx, New York l0466.



Sobe Pure Rush Floor Stand

Edge Display Group created this Sobe Pure Rush Floor-stand. This unit was awarded as one of the best displays at the last PEPSI "Modern Trade Show" in Purchase, New York. This display has a 20" footprint, 84" height and a 20" depth giving it the capability to hold 108 - 8.03oz cans and 16 - 4 packs. A 4 color process printing die cut skateboarder rides along a black curved metal rail. Each shelf is made as a skateboard consisting of black wire and a styrene gravity feed. All 4 shelves attach to the rear frame. This display was created by Edge Displays, 111 Gary Way, Ronkonkoma, NY 11779.



Diamond of California Nut Display

This roll-about floor display was designed specifically for Food Lion to cross merchandise in various sections in the store. The display merchandised smaller bags of nuts and large bags in bins. The mobile display was an effective and successful tool for providing a second location, greater visibility and stimulating sales by cross merchandising. The Diamond of California Nut Display was created by Nashville Display, 306 Hartmann Drive, Lebanon, TN 37087.



Special K Water Display

This display was built out of wire, tubing and sheet metal, powder-coated and decorated with 4-color process graphics on styrene with plastic insert and fasteners. The objective was to create a bold visual statement highlighting a new protein and calcium enhanced water, and to encourage single serve trial of the product. The product is marketed primarily in the diet foods/diet aids category. This display was created for Kellogg’s by Racks, Inc., 7684 St. Andrews Ave., San Diego, CA 92154.



Cavit Collection l87 ML. Floor Display

This display was designed as a floor display to take advantage of available floor space in supermarkets that sell liquor. It was constructed with 5 wooden shelves designed to hold nine 4-packs of Cavit l87 ML. bottles per shelf for a total of 45 packs of wine per display. The display combines the traditional beauty of wood trays with the contemporary look of sculptured tubing to add to the customer appeal. It also features a two-sided 4-color permanent header panel. The trays alternate the Cavit logo with an "Imported from Italy" tag line. The Cavit Collection Floor Display was created by New Business Solutions, lF Enterprise Pl., Hicksville, NY 11801.



Tsingtao Display Conveys Asian Heritage

Crown Imports, LLC required a temporary floor display with permanent display aesthetics that would merchandise cased product of Tsingtao beer. The display had to reinforce the “Asian” appeal of the brand. It was printed one color overall and UV coated "E" flute base with litho wrapped fiber poles, two sides, 4cp silk screened and stitched poly banner. The Tsingtao display was created by Great Northern Corp., 1800 South Street, Racine, WI 53404.



White Triple Bin Display

This versatile white triple-bin display holds a surprising amount of merchandise in a minimum of floor space. The square design makes the display space efficient and easy to shop. The display dimensions are: 47"H x 19"W x 19"Deep. The baskets are 6” deep. The display has a durable white powder-coat finish. This white triple bin display is available from Marv-O-Lus Manufacturing, 220 North Washtenaw Avenue, Chicago, IL 60612.


Hasbro Prepackaged Merchandisers

For the release of the Spiderman 3 movie Hasbro teamed with United Displaycraft to create a dynamic off-shelf prepackaged merchandiser for WalMart. These dual freestanding destinations became the backdrop for the subsequent Hasbro movie tie-in: Transformers. Graphics were flipped and product changed in the field. The merchandisers were manufactured from steel, wire, pre-approved WalMart pallet base, vacuum-formed side graphic panels and extruded price channels. Two sided, 6/color graphics with overlam supported both launches. The Hasbro Prepackaged Merchandisers were created by United Displaycraft, 333 E. Touhy Ave., Des Plaines, IL 60018.


Yellow Tail Sparkling Floor Stand

This Permanent Floor Stand was used by Yellow Tail to introduce its Sparkling Wine. It is constructed of Melamine and Acrylic. The display holds three cases, 36 bottles of wine. The unit is on casters so that it can be placed wherever needed in the retail environment. The attractive header proclaims "do you sparkle" to attract the attention of the consumer. The Yellow Tail Sparkling Floor Stand was created by Flair Display Inc., 3920 Merritt Avenue, Bronx, New York 10466.



Tweezerman Spinner Floor Display

This high-style spinner display was designed to merchandise feminine hand care products in professional nail salons. The display showcases a wide array of eye, facial, pedicure, manicure and personal gift products. The display measures 20" w x 20" d x 65" h and is constructed of steel tubing, wire, sheet metal and plastic with a powder coated finish. MTD Island Display

The objective for this display was to create a versatile merchandiser to cross sell a variety of accessory products with power tools. This modular, Cub Cadet Power Tools and Accessories Island fixture is constructed from metal, wire and tubing and has a durable powder finish. The screened on logos on the base sections provide strong brand identity. The cub cadet logo is screened on natural Coroplast panels behind the wire grids. Power tools can be hung on the wire grid panels with special brackets and the flexible modular system allows for accessory items to be pegged or displayed on metal shelves. The slotted tubular uprights provide adjustability of the shelves. The fixture was successful in creating multiple product purchases. Woodbridge Metal Barbecue Rack

Woodbridge Wines wanted a free-standing rack to convey that its wines are an ideal complement to barbecue foods. This display was designed to gain valuable floor space not only in the wine aisles but also in the meat department of major grocery store chains. This barbecue rack enabled Woodbridge to enhance their distribution during the summer months.This display was created for Woodbridge Wines by Sterling Promotional Corp., 558 Westchester Avenue, Rye Brook, NY 10573.


Concrete Jungle Flagship Store Fixtures

Concrete Jungle opened its flagship store with fixtures made of steel tubing and sheet metal with a clear coating, to allow the character of the steel to show through. Weld marks add to the industrial feel of the pieces. Wood, glass and concrete blocks were also used in the construction of these fixtures. The Concrete Jungle Displays was able to match the look of their flagship store to the raw, urban feel of their brand. The Concrete Jungle Flagship Store Fixtures were created by Metaline Displays, 101 North Feltus Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879.


Omni Watch Tower Display

Omni Watch Company required a display that was aesthetically pleasing and unique for Longs Drug Stores. It was also necessary to display more SKU's for boxed watches and blistered pegged watches. This watch tower display was designed which increased the product quantity by 25%. The unit featured the right mix of walnut wood and aluminum that kept it classic, yet gave it a more modern and fresher feel than the way it was displayed previously. The Omni Watch Tower Display was created by Creoh Packaging, 246 Seigel Street, Brooklyn, NY 11206.


Nashville Display offers the 24" Shelf Wire display, a stock unit that is available as a 5 or 4 shelf version. The 5 shelf display is 60" high x 24" wide x 17.25" deep. The 4 shelf is 48" high.
