Kwikset Offers New SmartKey With BumpGuard

Kwikset is displaying SmartKey™ nationwide, a new lock technology that provides consumers with the ability to re-key locks quickly and easily for improved access control and one key convenience. In three simple steps that take less than 30 seconds, homeowners can match multiple locks to one key, or replace a lost or loaned key with a new, secure key, all while the lock remains in place.

Hollywood Video Introduces In-Store Kiosk

Hollywood Entertainment is using this kiosk to increase the rental rate of each store’s Film Library. When consumers interact with the display, it provide the consumers with a list of suggested rentals from the library.

The use of powder coated metal for the kiosk enclosure allows for a sleek, but extremely sturdy display. The sleek look and ability to interchange the graphic panels allows the retailer many merchandising opportunities.

Movie library rentals have increased by 65% in store using the kiosk.

The Hollywood Video Guidance Kiosk was created for Hollywood Entertainment by Innomark Communications, a Fairfield, OH-headquartered point-of-purchase display firm.



Loblaw Supermarkets Feature moviecube Kiosks

The New Release is placing its moviecube DVD rental kiosk throughout Loblaw Companies Canadian grocery stores. The New Release (TNR) expects to install kiosks in over 350 Loblaw supermarkets by July 2008.

“moviecube has the dominant position in the grocery channel in the US, so expanding into Canada, where movie rental customers have shown a voracious appetite for DVD rentals, is a much-anticipated move for us,” said Tim Belton, CEO of The New Release.

The Republic Of Tea Develops Luna Floor Display

The Republic of Tea wanted a floor display for a new line of bottled teas and tea cakes, which are to be co-branded with Clif Bar’s “Luna” brand.

The floor display holds 60 bottles of tea in a minimum of floor space. The display also has shelves which can be easily added to hold up to 6 caddies of the Tea Cakes.

The display is constructed of powder-coated steel, a lasercut steel header, and with bamboo trim on the three visible sides of the display.

The display is designed for spas and health/natural food locations, including Whole Foods.

The Luna Floor Display was created for The Republic of Tea by Cornerstone Display Group, (www.cornerstonedisplay.com, a San Fernando, CA-based point-of-purchase display firm.



Phoenix Kiosk Helps Renters Lease Apartments

Sequoia Equities and Tempe, AZ-based Phoenix Kiosk Inc. have completed a statewide deployment of self-service kiosks that enable apartment hunters to view area information, and interactive floorplans, and electronically reserve an apartment while in the leasing center.

Goodyear Tire Debuts Interactive Kiosks

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. is installing interactive kiosks at its nearly 2,000 independent and company-owned Gemini Automotive Care retail outlets. The kiosks, known as Interactive Learning Centers, seek to make complicated automotive systems easier for a consumer to understand. The kiosk employs motion images to demonstrate how major automotive systems operate, explaining the types of service and repair work needed to best maintain the vehicle.

“These kiosks will assist the consumer by clarifying a store’s service and product recommendations,” said Mark Boswell, Gemini program manager. “This system takes the Gemini program to a new level of communicating service needs.” “We expect visitors to these stores will appreciate the openness, and we believe this will result in an immediate improvement in customer satisfaction.”



Hershey Displays At Turkey Hill Store

Hershey and Turkey Hill were looking to create a destination location for Hershey product with a theme “All Day Every Day.” A display was created using tubing, wire, styrene graphics and sheet metal. The flexibility of the display drove Hershey sales because it allowed Hershey to merchandise their entire line of products at the front of the Turkey Hill store. This display was created by United Displaycraft, Des Plaines, IL.



Madix Inc., has introduced Easel,™ a patent pending interactive shelf front sign channel. The Easel combines both TV broadcasting and interactive selling material in one unit. It can also be used to print coupons, receipts, or shopping lists at the shelf’s edge. The unit is less than 4" tall in normal shelf widths and depths of both odd and even increments. Any combination of electronic devices (touch screen, thin client,computer or media player, speakers, color printer, magnetic card reader), can be utilized. Boston Retail has introduced the VersaPanel system which provides flexibility, with interchangeable finished face plates that allow for power access every two inches. Provision Launches 3DEO Reward Centers

Provision Interactive Technologies (www.provisionentertainment.com) is rolling out its 3DEO Reward Centers in West Coast grocery stores. The 3DEO kiosks use 3D holographic video to draw consumer attention to featured products and are able to dispense coupons and in-store promotions. The 3DEO Reward Centers utilize Provision’s Holo™ 3D technology which projects high resolution videos into space. The 3DEO Reward Centers are available in a large large version with a 40-inch 3D holographic display and dual touch screens, and a smaller version with a 17-inch 3D display and a single touch screen.

In addition to streaming 3D videos, the kiosks are transaction terminals where customers can be rewarded with promotions, sweepstakes and coupons.

Evincii Provides Search And Ad Platform For Mass Retail Chains

Evincii is a new provider of in-store search and advertising software solutions for mass merchant, drug store, and supermarket chains. Evincii’s proprietary Search Engine in the Store(TM) technology platform recommends relevant products to shoppers in brick-and-mortar stores.

Infiniti Kiosk Ties Into History Channel’s ‘City Of The Future’

Infiniti recently sponsored the City of the Future: A Design and Engineering Challenge in celebration of the History Channel® series, “Cities of the Underworld”. At each of the design competition events, Infiniti offered a cutting-edge “augmented reality” kiosk. Consumers were able to see themselves on the kiosk's display screen, but when they held special cards in front of the screen, they instead saw themselves interacting with a fully rendered 3-D Infiniti EX. The virtual vehicle reacted to their movements while also educating them on key features of this new car.

“We are thrilled to be the first automaker to introduce this groundbreaking, augmented reality technology. What better environment to reveal this futuristic thinking than the History Channel’s “City of the Future” challenge,” said Ben Poore, V.P., Marketing, Nissan North America.



Schwinn/Mongoose Bike Cone Display

The primary objective of this display was to create a brand statement for Schwinn and Mongoose and separate them from the other bikes at retail, specifically the bike department at Wal-Mart. They wanted an endcap display for different bikes for the whole family. Schwinn has brand equity associated with nostalgia and quality for families getting together and biking while Mongoose is a younger more aggressive brand, but still part of a family. The most important design feature is the presenting of the bicycles in a new way. This display presents bicycles on an angle and in the round. The bikes are easily taken off and returned. The large graphic header/banner forms the backdrop to the bike presentation. The Schwinn/Mongoose Bike Cone Display won a Gold OMA in the Sports Equipment Category and was created by Darko, Inc., 2026 Summit Commerce Park, Twinsburg, OH 44087.



Luna Tea and Tea Cakes Floor Display. The Republic of Tea wanted a floor display for a new line of bottled teas and packaged tea cakes, to be co-branded with the "Luna" brand, and was to be sold in spas and health/natural food locations. The client was interested in using "sustainable" materials and liked the dramatic impact of bamboo as a decorative element. The display is constructed of powder- coated steel with natural Bamboo trim on the three 3 visible sides. The header section like the rest of the display carries through the Asian theme. The Luna Tea and Tea Cakes Floor Display was created by Cornerstone Display Group, l3834 Del Sur St., San Fernando, CA 9l340. BRONZE AWARD.



Hasbro Spiderman/Transformers WalMart Pallet Program: This Hasbro WalMart Pallet display was designed to maintain a permanent selling arena in WalMart for variety of Hasbro products beginning with Spiderman 3 Action Figures, changing to Transformers action figures and toys and then changing throughout the year into a variety of other Hasbro toys.The Unit is constructed using wire, steel tubing, roto molded base, extruded price signs, graphics with overlam for long term stability. The displays achieved complete sell through of product during each promotional period. This display was created by United Displaycraft, 333 E. Touhy, Des Plaines, IL 60018. BRONZE AWARD.



Guitar Hero III Toys R Us Interactive Display. This display was designed to feature the new Guitar Hero III video game and enable consumers to try the game before buying it. The display reflects the "I'm a rock star" excitement of the Guitar Hero video game. The display holds all the elements needed to sell the game; product packaging for the software DVD as well as guitar console, demo guitars, TV-monitor and Xbox 360 console. Bacardi Rum Display

This innovative floor display for Bacardi Rum has an enticing appeal that draws consumers to it. The display holds seven l liter bottles which appear to be suspended, each at a different level. The wire bottle holders are formed in a round shape and have a metal bottom plate. All wire, tubing and metal parts have a silver powder finish. The Bacardi Rum Floor Display was created by Nashville Display, 306 Hartman Drive, Lebanon, TN 37087.



Woodbridge Metal Barbecue Rack

Woodbridge Wines wanted a free-standing rack to convey that its wines are an ideal complement to barbecue foods. This display was designed to gain valuable floor space not only in the wine aisles but also in the meat department of major grocery store chains. This barbecue rack enables Woodbridge to enhance its distribution during the summer months.This display was created for Woodbridge Wines by Sterling Promotional Corp., 558 Westchester Avenue, Rye Brook, NY 10573.



Metkote Laminated Products, Inc. offers VML with a variety of fresh colors ranging from realistic rich wood grains, to high gloss metallics, to supple leather looks. Products made from VML are more durable than painted products and new scratch resistant coatings improve the finished goods. Metkote provides VML in coil, sheets or blanks.
