Target Transforms Its Stores

Target is ramping up the pace of its remodels this year. It’s a bigger transformation for its stores than at any point in the past decade.
It is investing $5 billion this year toward 130-plus remodels and 30 new stores, as well as updates in technology and its supply chain. That includes 30 stores in 10 priority markets: Atlanta; Austin, Dallas and Houston, Texas; Charlotte, N.C.; Chicago; Phoenix; Los Angeles; Miami, Fla.; Minneapolis; New York City; Philadelphia; and Washington, D.C.
Laurie Mahowald, Sr, V.P., Target Properties, said, “We’re evolving our stores in ways that reflect how guests shop today, from more intuitive layouts to expanded assortments.”
